Where's the speed? Answer that question and I think we've found the winner. CHANCE DANCE made good account of herself in her debut before being shelved for 7 months. But she comes back working very, very well and steps up in class.
The bet: $20 W #2 $10 ex box 1-2

Race 2
MAGIC BID is dropping to an all-time low. He doesn't seem to have the finishing kick needed to win races but he didwin his last at Churchill and perhaps this level is the fit. DEALER'S SURPRISE could be the one, however, if he is left up front to his own devices.
The bet: $10 WP 4 $5 ex box 4-6

Race 3
WHO FIRED WHO needs the lead to win - fortunately for her, she'll most likely get it. If there's any speed bias at all today she should win easily. I keep looking at MY QUEEN BURNS though. Her last two were pretty impressive. If the 4 and 7 go out early with the 3, the queen could be flying late and take a piece.
The bet $1 tri #2 first and second with #3,4,7 & $4 ex box 2-3.

SOME CAME RUNNING has the speed and has strong turf breeding.

Race 5
Tough race - there's a lot to like. Feels like a bomb in here. The outside horse STREETFIGHT ran superbly in his debut at River Downs then caught a sloppy track and didn't show a thing. This helps our odds as the horse will be dismissed off both the last race and the fact he's shipping from lesser tracks. It's just a hunch, but I think the colt might have some talent and Marty long has brought him over here to steal one. Getting the Lumpster doesn't hurt.

Race 6
That's a nice work for FULL CARAT and she's a double dropper. But you know, that work was in the slop and she's bred for slop. Something about this horse rubs me wrong. Gonna lay off. EVA'S GOLD had a rough trip in last and might surprise 'em here. Going with Lumpkins again.

nice write-ups. don't usually play cheap claiming races (particularly away from my home tracks), but do like some came running a lot in the fourth.

hey, i still dont understand everything with horse racing, so got a couple of questions. if the entry comes in 1,2, and then chance dance finishes 3rd, do we win the exacta? and also what are all the classes mean? like maiden claiming and such? Thanks

apparently it is pouring in lville, even though i am 50 miles away and it is nice outside, but they have downgraded the track. does this change any of your picks? I am already on the first 3 races. Thanks

I handicapped the race based on a fast track...don't have my form with me right now as I'm on the road with a laptop. Not sure how much the plays would change....kinda bummed it's raining since I already placed my bets.

got us some cash on the 4th race, nice job. didnt see the race, but got 2nd. laid off the 5th since it was muddy, that horses odds shot up to 28-1 last i saw though.

Just got home - looks like we broke even, perhaps made a little on the day. Too bad about the rain. Anyone see the 4th? Did Some Came Running ever make the lead? Just curious.
