I might be biased since he's my favorite actor but is he not the best actor in Hollywood right now? The Machinist, The Prestige, American Psycho, Dark Knight and now I can't wait to see Exodus.

He's versatile, talented and everything he touches seems to turn to gold

Well, was just watching The Machinist, just thinking outloud.

Man, great flick, he is a compromised actor. Very talented.

I prefer Edward Norton... but they are in the same level... best part by Norton is Primal Fear with Richard Gere.. it was his movie debut and he was nominated for it, haunting performance... then he went on to make Fight Club, Rounders, American History X.

I think Bale overdid the voice on Batman a little bit... and Michael Keaton is still my favorite Batman. The Dark Knight is a legendary film because it has a legendary story and a legendary villain. So many memorable quotes on that movie is overwhelming, I remember coming out of the theater in shock due to the Joker's portrayal by Heath Ledger.

Batman Begins and The Dark Knight Rises are not as good as The first Batman series with Burton... The Dark Knight stands out hugely compared to those 2. I think casting failed on Batman Begins and TDKR especially on the female side. Michelle Pfeiffer was a brilliant and sexy catwoman, the chick in TDKR is bland.

Sorry for getting slightly off topic but are you referring to Anne Hathaway? I don't know if 'bland' comes to mind..

Bale is pretty good but he's more action-oriented for me. Was great as Batman. He was disappointing for me in an otherwise very good movie, American Hustle. Got outdone by Bradley Cooper in that movie. I prefer Leo DiCaprio, Joaquin Phoenix, Russell Crowe or Denzel for a dramatic role.

The Fighter. To me, hands down Bale's best role. American Hustle was pretty good, but if anybody outdid him in that movie it was Jennifer Lawrence.

ddl is the best
bale in exodus was excellent, i think a less talented actor would have made the movie cartoonish and totally ruined it. very difficult role to make the audience suspend reality and believe

I was going to say I thought he was good in American Hustle. He played the part of the degenerate character.

Did you watch Out of the Furnace. I thought Bale was great in there.

Bale, Norton, Josh Brolin, Ben Affleck, Cicaprio....all good. Norton might be a cut above but not by much.

Affleck? Affleck is a terrible actor, he has no acting skills whatsoever... he just plays his good looks and that's all.ç

DiCaprio not that good either.

I know your feeling. I too once despised Affleck but I think he's gotten better as the years have passed by and after he's gotten Damon's dick out of his ass.

He's nothing Great but he sure seems to find those roles where it fits him. Argo, Reindeer Games, Changing Lanes (awesome flick), Gone Girl, Paycheck. But then he's really came out with some doozies like Jersey Girl and Gigli (ugh!).

Don't think the libs that vote for these things would ever give an Academy Award in a film like this at this point in time. Did for Saving Private Ryan. Kind of forced to do so.

And let's not kid ourselves here. Daniel Day Lewis still kicks ass over most of these guys listed. Picky about his roles.
