I mean winning 2 of 3 as you say you hope for will net you the $255, but by the same token you're risking $1059 to hopefully win that amount. Not very good when you look at your attempts that way today, but I guess that's why they call it gambling. In any case, it's not too difficult to see why the odds are always in favor of the books.

A 25% yield or Return On Investment would be a great profit margin. Most people would be happy to make 10% over a larger sample of bets.
