I'll be at the Ritz Carlton New Orleans in April for a work thing.

Never been to new Orleans. Thinking if taking the family and turning into a vacation.

Suggestions on things to do?

Airboat rides through the swamps
Trolley Ride

great restaurants we ate at

GW Fins, seafood
K Paul's, authentic
Commanders Palace, a must do for a weekend brunch. Reservations and proper attire required (no, not formal, just check it out)

Of course natives are probably much more knowledgeable and would know the hidden gems

not sure that is the place I would choose for a family vacation. New Orleans tourist area was fun with the Wife for couple days but I can tell you Louisiana is the one place I have ever been that I said I cannot live here.

Taking the family.........guy case of dvd’s to watch by myself while trying to find good food to eat. Is really what was meant to be said. No disrespect but there’s just not enough time in the day for this guy to have a family and a brand new baby and work and spend as much time as he does hanging out in this offshore section and never wager any real money on bets. There’s just not enough time in the day for it to be possible. Have a good day.

Typical JC Offshore thread:

1. JC poses an innocent question, without trying to start anything
2. Mobdeeper comes in just to bash the guy

All I can say about New Orleans is that it's pretty difficult not to eat well there. You'll have fun

We’re more interested in the poker game that JC backed out of years ago

Murph would probably come back to stream it live for the RX

If you are into history at all, check out the WWII History Museum. It’s awesome.

I’m not a big museum guy but I thought it was well worth the money and time. The kids loved it as well.

Agreed... went there last year, the best WW II museum in the world.

It was so moving, I had to tell my 18 year old son (in the Asia/Pacific) section, I had to take a break, and get out,
I couldn't take it any more...
