I'm thinking about signing up with Hollywood, but am not sure which program to choose Choose -107 VIG or Choose Star Treatment. Not sure what is what as far as the programs go. I am very new to this and bet very small amounts. So small that I'm embarrased to say, but I do it for fun. Any help would be great!

Thanks

Hollywood is a very fine book..and -107 juice, you cannot really beat that...

Not a bad choice at all....I would take the -107, over time that will save you alot of money...

Good luck

Thanks Jman. I guess I'll take the vig. Does Hollywood give incentives to members who refer new members? If so, I'll put you down.

Thanks again for the help.

Go with the reduced vig. I just switched over to it today. You get a bonus every time you lose with reduced vig.

Actually you get a bonus every time you win with reduced vig. Winners pay the vig. Losers just lose. Of course everyone has winners and losers so it's really acedemic.

Hollywood is cool.

WMU,

Large or Small Holywood takes them all!! A small player is just as cool as a large one. Grab the -107 it pays off in the long run. Good luck on all your plays. Post some picks on the picks forums. I'll give your games a shot!!

WMU,

Both programs are great whether you're big or small. They both receive a 10% cash bonus when you join with a deposit of $300 or more. If you open for less, we will still give you a 5% cash. On the -107 lineset you are going to receive reduced juice lines on football and basketball for the game, 1st and 2nd halves, and quarters. Our -107 juice on NBA halftimes is some of the best around.
The Star Treatment Loyalty Program will give you an initial cash deposit bonus, cash reload bonuses, and 10% cash back on football losses.
Both programs deliver a great cash bonus when you open the account, it's up to you to choose whether or not you want to receive more cash bonuses and football cash back, or enjoy reduced vig lines all season long.

I'm sure you'll find Hollywood to be a friendly and exciting place for all your gaming needs.

Take the juice.

D2,
I have to disagree. Many bettors use the "to win" when betting units, so a dime play saves $30 per loser

1100/1000 vs 1070/1000

There is no right or wrong in this endless debate -- it's all about perception.

My perception is that doesn't matter you someone perceives it or how they frame it. If you lose, you lose the money that you risked. Nothing more, nothing less. Whether it was -200 or -110 or +200. But if you win, you win the risk amount multiplied by the vig.

Winners pay the vig.

But in the real world, everyone wins some and everyone loses some so well all pay vig and well benefit from reduced vig. =)

2 facts in this thread, good for someone "starting out".. Winners pay the vig, and -107 is the better long term deal..

D2,
You are assuming that people do not adjust their bets based on the vig -- that's simply not the case for everyone.

whether it's -107 meaning 1070/1000 or -110 meaning 1100/1000, etc ... the loss costs less as the vig reduces. In this case $30 saved.

Now, if they always lay 1000 it would mean -107 1000/ 934 or -110 1000/909. In this case $25 gained.

Or course a savings is a gain of sorts, so the advantage of vig reduction between win/loss philosophy simply depends on your approach.
