Really curious as to what the latest news/rumors with Maddux and the Cubs?
Also any word on Ivan Rodriguez to the
Cubs? I heard Detroit offered I-Rod $40
million for 4 years. Thanks.

If they get Ivan Rodriguez and Maddux pencil them in as winners of the World Series.

Anthony, if the Cubs could pull that off, that would be truly amazing. I can't imagine I-Rod seriously wanting to go to Detroit. But with that clown Boras in his ear, who knows.

I thought the Cubs would have announced the signing of Maddux this weekend at the Cubs Convention. The general feeling is that it will get done, the only other team that is serious about him is the Giants. I don't know about I-Rod, probably 50/50. Just depends on how Boras wants to negotiate.

I think the Cubs will get it done with Maddux, for 2 years. I don't think I-Rod will happen. No way the Cubs offer anything near 4/40 and they definitely can't do both Maddux and I-Rod given that they also want to sign Wood long-term. As for Maddux, remember he already has his personal catcher in Chicago. Paul Bako caught all of his games in 2001.

If the Cubs are offering two years, Boras and Maddux should jump on that.

If Boras and Pudge take the 4 year offer from Detroit, I hope the Tigers keep him there all 4 years. No trading him to a contender in July, Etc. Let I-Rod be stuck on a loser like A-Rod is in Texas.

Anthony, my thoughts exactly. Maybe Boras is just using Detroit and messing around. I was glad when Baltimore stuck it to him and signed Javy Lopez, when he was playing games with their front office during negotiations.

If Pudge signs with the Detroit Tigers I will be Angelle personal sex slave for one hour the next time she visits Las Vegas.

Charlie, I think Baseball had some
marketing slogan/campaign awhile back,
about winning fans back 'one at a time'.
If Pudge signs with Detroit and Angelle
meets you in Vegas, will Baseball have won
Charlie Maxwell back as a fan???????

I think GM Hendry thinks we can beat the Astros even with there new additions, I mean I give them credit, but the Astros really didnt add that much fuel to the fire, maybe just a little spark, this isnt the 90's anymore... I think both Clemens and Pettite have seen there days...
Time for the new generation, Prior Wood Clement Zambrano will take over..

I don't think Pettite has seen his better days, but a rotation of Prior, Wood, Zambrano and Maddux would sure give Cubs fans something to sing about during seventh inning stretches.
