FWIW
INDIANAPOLIS - Illinois coach
Bruce Weber has called senior guard
Chester Frazier "our glue guy."
Now, it appears the Illini will have to find a new way to keep things together. Frazier is doubtful for Friday's Big Ten quarterfinal game against Michigan with a severely bruised hand suffered in Wednesday's practice in Champaign.
Frazier has played through many ailments, but an injury to the right hand of a right-handed shooter is more problematic. With the
NCAA tournament a week away, there would seem to be little reason to risk playing Frazier.
The injury means more playing time for senior
Calvin Brock (4.8 ppg),the most likely replacement in the starting lineup, and sophomores
Jeff Jordan and
Alex Legion.
Frazier, a member of the Big Ten's all-defense team, usually draws the opponent's best offensive player.
