yep, that's close alright

officials are buffoons

I have to believe they're going to make changes, but idiots don't know they're idiots and Roger is one clueless leader. He's not a football guy, he's not a ref, he's not an attorney.............WTF is he?

IMHO, he's the least prepared man in the room II

Here's a good one. Just have to laugh at how bad and blatant some of these calls are. I hope they get shit right before the playoffs.

Did they call offensive PI or defensive? I missed it...

Offensive. Pretty hilarious. Guy just fell. I was thinking they almost need some sort of review system for penalties now. Of course don't want the games being 4-5 hours long though.

Did they review the 1st down call and give it to him anyway in that KC game?

IDK, I copied from a blog, but it would have to be challenged so it's possible it was never reviewed

found the answer, the call stood

I have to say some of the blame is on Rex for not challenging a few key plays, but basically

  1. Maclin had a push off right in front of the refs. Huge gain on the play and certainly an obvious OPI, not called
  2. Maclin caught the ball for another huge gain. Ball clearly hits the turf. Rex should have challenged. Instead when the same thing is called an incomplete pass for Hogan, he challenges and loses, because both shouldve been incomplete.
  3. Alex Smith picks up a first down while being at least a yard and a half short of the first. Again, Rex shouldve challenged the spot. He doesnt. Instead he decides to challenge a similar play where Taylor scrambles for close to the first, but is called a yard short by the refs. Of course Rex loses the challenge because Taylor, like Smith, was short.
  4. 2 Complete passes to Hogan in crucial points in the game were ruled incomplete. Rex should have fucking challenged! (sensing a theme?)
Basically it seemed like the Chiefs were getting some calls/spots they didnt deserve and Rex challenges the wrong plays.

Belichick has been asking for it, but since its bill people refuse to listen: make everything reviewable.

I have more compassion for nfl refs than nba. Footall is a harder game officiate. I wonder what the % of passes over 20 yards that have pi? Seems like if you just chuck it up you have 50% chance of a flag.

cut down on the rules, we can probably eliminate all the rules implemented in the past 10 to 20 years with the exception of personal fouls and concussions. The NFL rule book now resembles the federal tax code, and that's under Roger's guidance

eliminate the confusion, eliminate the acting, eliminate (at least reduce) ref's subjectivity

implement no advantage gained or lost, no foul, except for personal fouls

take the review process away from an IT guy who's not a referee

Roger's NFL has taken a very popular sport and is in the process of ruining it with red tape and yellow flags, incredibly naive and stupid
