Watching the mighty Cubs on WGN yesterday; Weiss was the celebrity leading seventh inning strech "Take me out" and it seemed to me he was booed like a hated man. Hot seat????

I do not think the Irish are gonna have much this year either; maybe time to join Big Eleven???

Notre Dame will get back to a bowl game this season. It will not be a BCS bowl, but I expect some New Year's Day bowls to come calling on Notre Dame. ND will be better this season and their schedule is much more manageable. I know we all like to hate on ND, but we need to be realistic about the chances this season. They bring back a lot more health and experience than they did last season and they are loaded with talent. Just check out all the VHTs they have at every position.

Just wondering what you think SBS.

Will Charlie Weiss be circling UW so he can gain respectability as ND's current coach over their former coach or will TW be taking aim at Notre Dame (partially to make CW's apologists who blame TW for all his problems to STFU.)

They will be playing this year in Seattle.

From the ND angle, no way Charlie would try to run it up. He will recapture respectability by beating Michigan in Week 2.

Last season they returned only 9 starters on the entire team. 11 of their starters were Sophomore or younger. Almost all of their depth were Sophomores or redshirt Freshmen. How many teams have you ever seen to your recollection that had a winning season with these kind of numbers and facts? Of course they were awful. So would any team be that had to try and win games with this kind of inexperience. It was a rebuilding year, clear and simple.

I'm not going to spend a great deal of time explaining every detail of Notre Dame's weaknesses a year ago, but it all had to do with the inexperience of some talented players who were a year or two away from reaching their potential. This is not the problem this season. I also think their defensive coordinator sucks, but Weis hired one of the greatest DC's in the game whenever he hired Tenuta who was the former Georgia Tech defensive coordinator. He will assist Brown as DC, but I think Weis is going to give him the sounding power simply because Brown doesn't have his skill in knowledge or gamecalling. The defense WILL be much improved this year.

Conan, I don't know about the Washington game because it is on the road. I'm looking to play on Notre Dame for all the home games though because it is in Weis' best interest to win the fans back after going 1-6 at home last year.

As a closing thought, I really do hope there are a bunch of gamblers who think Notre Dame is going to be as bad they were last year. I really hope they do think that . . . . . .

That was just to tip you off to the drama in that game SBS. TW might salvage his job if he ALMOST gets into a bowl but still beats ND.
