it doesnt matter if you return players who arnt any good to begin with there going to be awful again
Last season they returned only 9 starters on the entire team. 11 of their starters were Sophomore or younger. Almost all of their depth were Sophomores or redshirt Freshmen. How many teams have you ever seen to your recollection that had a winning season with these kind of numbers and facts? Of course they were awful. So would any team be that had to try and win games with this kind of inexperience. It was a rebuilding year, clear and simple.
I'm not going to spend a great deal of time explaining every detail of Notre Dame's weaknesses a year ago, but it all had to do with the inexperience of some talented players who were a year or two away from reaching their potential. This is not the problem this season. I also think their defensive coordinator sucks, but Weis hired one of the greatest DC's in the game whenever he hired Tenuta who was the former Georgia Tech defensive coordinator. He will assist Brown as DC, but I think Weis is going to give him the sounding power simply because Brown doesn't have his skill in knowledge or gamecalling. The defense WILL be much improved this year.
Conan, I don't know about the Washington game because it is on the road. I'm looking to play on Notre Dame for all the home games though because it is in Weis' best interest to win the fans back after going 1-6 at home last year.
As a closing thought, I really do hope there are a bunch of gamblers who think Notre Dame is going to be as bad they were last year. I really hope they do think that . . . . . .
