I will never understand guaranteed contracts. They benefit no one besides the coach/ athlete. If he succeeded there and wanted to leave for more $$ he could or fail and still get that $$ plus another job. It is unthinkable how anyone in the real world gets that. Imagine you are in sales and would say "you owe me 450K over the next 3 years" No instead, you have to sign "non compete" clauses and all of that crap. Basically, you can be fired at will and not even allowed back in your profession. Get no guaranteed $$. Do that do an Undrafted rookie Running back. We can cut you, do not owe you any money except maybe unemployment and by the way, you can not sign with any other team in the NFL.
