just read an article on cbssportsline and brought up some good stuff. in my opinion i think Ward was better back than. But tough to compare players from 10+ years ago to todays players. Tebow is a freak no denying that. But would take Ward. What you guys think?
There's going to be a lot of people eating crow when Tebow goes in the first round next year and ends up a starting QB in the NFL.
Ward vs. Tebow is comparing apples & oranges. Ward was a great college QB who played on a great team. He was a starter for 2 years. Ward was 5'11 and barely 200lbs. Tebow is a legit 6'3 and 245. This will be his 3rd season as a starter...after playing a significant role as a true freshman. He makes all the throws (go watch the SECCG vs Bama....AND the NC game vs. Oklahoma and tell me he can't "make the throws"). Pat White was drafted in the 2nd round by Miami....and he's no Tim Tebow by a long shot. Tebow is being coached by Tom Brady's college QB coach, Scott Loeffler. Loeffler has coached several NFL QB's and says that Tebow WILL be an NFL QB....but I guess you desk jockey's know more than he does. Just like those who said the spread wouldn't work in the SEC....Urban Meyer was a one trick pony.....and Tim Tebow will be a NFL TE.....get ready to eat more crow.....
Ward was the best college QB I've ever seen. Tebow may have better pro prospects (although I'm skeptical he'll be any good in the pros), but if we're talking about college, I take ward over Tebow and anybody else.
