i like Strong for his defensive work, but don't think this is a good long-term fit for his personality since he'll need to do a ton of media which will grind on him badly.
he had to get out of Louisville though and cash in on his stock, so it's hard to fault him for accepting.
obviously he would've taken the Florida job had UF fired Muschamp, so UF better hope he flops at Texas.
why does he need to get out of Louisville?
because the program will be in transition now for 2-3 years and it would hurt his stock had he stuck around. Louisville will be a consistent 6-8 win program in the ACC, but that wouldn't be nearly good enough for him to land another top 5 job again.
don't get me wrong, i respect their program and think they have the best AD in the country in Jurich, but Strong needed to leave for professional reasons. i'm skeptical though if he'll be personally happy at UT.
