Since this is a sports site, let's all pay attention when the cameras focus on "The Black Hole" in the Raider's game on Monday night. A group of fanatical Raider fans who dress alike all trying to be more outrageous than the other, are delusional about their team always blaming their ineptitude on something or someone else and, in their daily life, are unnoticed because they are unremarkable.
Members have no doubt they are going to the Super Bowl because that is reinforced by other members which is pretty much their circle of human contact. They only pay attention to outside sources when it reinforces their own mania.
That reinforcement or confirmation bias, just makes it harder for these people to self-reflect and realize their actions really have no impact on anyone or anything. When they lose today they just dream of a future victory. Most Raider fans are like those of any other franchise...a very, very small segment fall off the edge and will be put on display on Monday.
I don't have to draw the obvious parallels to a segment of the group on this site as I know they won't get it anyway. At least, The Black Hole gets eight or nine days out of the house a year.
