Chapman to cubs from yanks could be the big clincher for small bears.

That plus Montgomery (quality lefty) in the pen as well as if Nathan can be at least a decent portion of his former self

Let's not get ahead of ourselves now...a lot of season to go...
Not getting ahead of anything. It simply means that their bullpen is in much better shape and means that they (potentially) are an even better wager each game. I could care less about them winning the World Series as I do not have a futures bet on it

I was referring to the move being described as "the big clincher" and "guaranteed playoffs" by OP. Definitely big move and solidly upgrades the bullpen and will make the Cubs "juicier" each game...but as a Cubs fan I will refrain from any drastic optimism. One game at a time. Just try not to suck.

i would wager any amount that cubs get to playoffs. so far as a clincher i think now it makes it much easier with a super closer. of course anything can happen but gee it looks great now.

All those statements are probably fair, and the Cubs were basically the favs before all this and probably should be the favs now...it's just...it's been 100+ years...I refuse to get too excited.

well even as bad is there 3 quailty pitchers have been past month ,there still comfortably out in front of two teams that are suspect, add that too the fact that there 3 top pitchers have not been good the past month. arrieta, and lester have to get it going and he lackey have been hit hard last 4 or 5 starts. so i see them improving and chapman has to be a big catch an give confidence to there starters.

Sorry, I was strictly coming from a gambling perspective. I have no favorites and could care less about any of that. All I care about is if my wagers win.
