I have Firefox 3 and IE7 installed but I like to use IE7 cause I'm used to it. Many times (always?) when a program puts up a message on a browser, it uses Firefox and not IE7. How do I make IE7 the default for everything short of uninstalling firefox?

when you open ie does it say Internet Explorer is not currently your default browser. Would you like to make it your default browser?

if it still doesnt work do this

1. Click the Start button, then click on the Control Panel icon to open the Windows Control Panel.
2. Click the Add or Remove Programs icon to open the Add or Remove Programs applet.
3. On the left side of the Window click the Set Program Access and Defaults icon.
4. In the Access and Defaults window, click on the Custom radio button to expand the Custom category.
5. Underneath Choose a default Web browser click the radio button next to Internet Explorer.
6. Click OK at the bottom of the window.
