Calgary coaching staff head and shoulders above montreal's

You're right about that Powerz, congrats on the win. Can't believe how lousy the Als offense looked again tonight. Stamps defense looks great without Hefney out there!

okay I scraped out that second half win on the score board but there is not doubting who was the better team. Scrapped it out b/c Montreal blocks a punt to get 7 points

Still picked up 16* tonight - Lost my beer and pizza money.......:(

XS and VS Thanks...

YAA - I totally agree he had some success at Boise but that was because it was all the Off- Co-ord who is now their HC

I think we can agree that MOntreal is really bad and the success Winnipeg had against them last week will be tough to match against the Cats today

WEEK #3 · JULY 11-13 · CFL NOTES & TRENDS
3. Week #3 Game Preview - Winnipeg at Hamilton – Jul 13/13:
This game is an early test of Hamilton’s ability to bounce back and avoid their first 0-3 start since 2007. Each of the last two years
they have lost the first two games but came back to win in Week #3. For Winnipeg, they are looking to repeat what turned out to be
the third lowest opponent net offence (122 yards) in the last 7 CFL seasons and an effort that ranks in the Top 15 since 1996
(1,200+ games). The Bombers sacked Anthony Calvillo 7 times, the most by an Montreal opponent since 2007.
Hamilton Tiger-Cats:
- Last week: In a game played under very tough weather conditions at their temporary home in Guelph, the Ti-Cats allowed
Edmonton start with two TD drives and then trailed for the final 57:00 of the game. They fought back to within one point at the
half but gave up another pair of TD drives to lose by 10 points.
- D-Line Challenge: Hamilton has recorded just a single sack in two games and this follows 2012 where they ranked #7 with
31. D-Line turnover has been high as in two games the Ti-Cats have started 7 different players in that key area.
- Henry Burris: The Ti-Cats QB leads the CFL after two weeks with 595 passing yards but ranks at #4 in efficiency having used
9 different receivers in two games (Andy Fantuz DNP last week); No other QB on the Hamilton roster has any CFL pass attempts.
Burris needs 2 TD passes to tie Matt Dunigan (306) for #4 all-time.
- Youthful offensive corps: Last week seven different receivers caught passes, four of whom are 1st year players, two are in
their 2nd year and Bakari Grant is the senior active pass catcher. RBs C.J. Gable and Lindsey Lamar are also new to the CFL.
- Lindsey Lamar: The 1st-year Ti-Cat leads the league in combined yards with 437 after two weeks and his total includes a
league-best 315 kickoff return yards. He has 104 and 68-yard returns to his credit though he fumbled 4 times in the rain last week.
- Tough 2nd Down Last Week: The Ti-Cats gained just 54 yards on 22 second down plays against Edmonton and went 0-for-
13 in 2nd-and-7+ conversion situations. They were solid on 1str down however gaining 207 of their 259 net offence yards.
- Kick Returns Leader: Hamilton leads the CFL with 448 total return yards mainly on kickoffs. Their punt return average sits at
just 3.9 yards/att however to go with four fumbles in the rains last week.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers:
- Last week: The Blue Bombers played their finest defensive game in recent memory completely shutting down Anthony Calvillo
and the Als’ offence. Montreal went 0-for-16 in 2nd&long conversion chances and 3-for-20 overall gaining just 28 yards on 20
second down plays. The Bombers lead the CFL in stopping opponents on 2nd down at just 27% (12/45).
- Wide receiving group / Cory Watson: The Bombers’ offence has featured nine different receivers so far which reverses a
trend where they used the fewest in the league consistently in 2012. With Terrence Edwards out this week they have added yet
another new pass catcher in Aaron Woods. Last week, Cory Watson recorded his fourth career 100-yard game and a career-best
114 yards on 6 catches. He ranks #11 in the CFL with 143 yards (#3 among Canadian receivers).
- #1 CFL Defence: Winnipeg ranks #1 in the CFL in net yards allowed (218) along with both run and pass defence averages,
QB sacks (11), fewest first downs (29) and opponent completion %.
- Buck Pierce: The Bombers’ QB has finished both games thus far continuing the trend of success when he plays the entire
game. In his 30 career starts since 2010, Winnipeg is 13-3 when he finishes and 1-13 when he is knocked out of games. He has
missed 26 other games on the Injured List across his 2010 to 2013 tenure as a Bomber.
- 3rd Quarter: Across the back-to-back set with Montreal Winnipeg outscored the Als 20-2 in the 3rd Quarter. The Bombers
outgained Montreal 177 yards to just 28.
- Better Start: The Bombers have begun both games with a turnover on offence on the first series and have four 1st Quarter
turnovers. They have been resilient though and Montreal was unable to generate more than 4 points last week off 5 T/Os. After
two weeks the Bombers trail the CFL with a -6 T/O Ratio.
- Turner Player-of-the-Week Out: The Bombers D-Line star had 3 sacks last week but will spend Week #3 on the IL. Their
depth however is an asset as four different players have 2 or more sacks.
- Bombers Offence: Through two games they rank #7 in the CFL at 306 net yards per game. In terms of average yards per
offensive play they have generated a 4.9 yard avg (#8 overall) and just 3.4 yards per rush. They have 22 two-and-outs but this
has been offset by their defence which has created 23.
- Mike Renaud: The Bombers punter is off to a fine start and ranks #2 in the CFL with a 47.9 yard average.
