Had a profitable week with the Winnipeg win anchoring the weekend. Those Calgary receivers were sure hearing footsteps in that one resulting in at least 6 dropped balls.

BC @ Edmonton; The Lions are frittering away games so far. At least they have some explosiveness however and I like that trait versus the slogging of the Eskimos. They just look toothless. I look for BC to limit their blunders here, get a good pass rush on Ray and keep it very close or pull out the outright win. Always tough to win when visiting Commonwealth but they have a good shot here. I expect to see the line drop later but I’ll take BC and the 4.5 now.

Hello 1sob..you are right they are hard to back. With 3 plays they'd be 2-0 and i'm thinking they'll make those soon. But they are risky.
You think Jackson should be qb hey? Interesting. I do think they cut/lost some leaders and are now relying on some guys like Paris jackson and Geroy Simon to fill that role and I have never seen them in that light. I think this is a huge game for them this week. We'll see. Looking forward to it.

Everyman

we never did catch up been pretty busy - nice hit on the bluebombers last week.

I think you are on the right side here, BC has at least been competitive in both games the eskimos definately look more disorganised. I'll have a long look at this ML when it comes out.

SOB - we never want Jackson to start at QB again

To be completely honest, Travis Lulay is probably the best QB we have. But... he's a rookie and the 3rd string, so he won't be getting a chance anytime soon. If choosing between Buck and Jarious, I think you have to stick with Buck. Changes on the OL should hopefully bolster protection. I like the fact that McCallum is injured, he will be replaced by a guy who outkicked him in preseason. Besides, McCallum has probably been our worst player so far... and that's saying a lot for a guy who plays 5-10 plays a game.

I like the Leos +4.5 I think people like to back BC, and perhaps this line will drop closer to a pick'em by gametime. Eskies must revert back to run and gun offence with Lumsden gone... only problem is that the WRs are worse than last year without Campbell and Tucker.

You LIKE the fact that Mcallum has a screwed up ACL and probably is career threatened? Wow fandom is a terrible thing sometimes. Brutal. And I suggest the ONLY reason you think Lulay is the best QB on the roster is that he's not playing. But to each his own I guess. Enjoy the season. I sure hope the lions do well or soon you'll want Buono gone too.

I've wanted Buono gone for years. If you took a few minutes to watch every player on this team play, you might see the talent that Lulay has. Nothing against McCallum, I'm sure he's a decent guy, but he's dead weight.

If you think Buono has coached well, McCallum has kicked well, and Lulay is a bad player, you better check the date on your newspaper :)

No need to get into a debate here. Never said Lulay is a bad player…just that he’s not playing. He’s played two ex games about 20 minutes, and threw a game losing interception in one and overthrew an open receiver for a game winner in the other. But he’s got potential. Just a stretch to say you know he’s the best in town now.
Never said McCallum was kicking well in the first games just that it’s harsh to be glad he’s hurt.
As for Buono…well he’s done pretty well but I understand that folks are frustrated. Fire him and several teams would be lining up. But it’s completely fair to criticize him. I'm a bettor, not a partcular team fan ( but a fan of the CFL) and I've learned that fans have to be careful what they hope for. my guess is you are a passionate fan.
Anyway, enjoy the year in BC.

Thats me for sure.

We are all on the same side here..........picking winners.
I continue to hope for more constructive discourse.

As much as I think Buono is a bad coach, he always manages to find good players to replace those who leave. Some of the best players tonight were rookies who played a huge role.

Whyte: McCallum might as well pack his bags now. If this kid keeps putting punts in the coffin corner and putting kickoffs as deep as he does, I don't know how Wally can justify putting him back on the practice roster.

Toney: This kid has all-star written all over him. Clearly belongs with Banks and Phillips as one of the top defensive back on the team, and perhaps the Western Conference. Great cover back who has done nothing but impress.

Mallett: A little bit of Millington, a little bit of Joe Smith, he looks to be at worst an average starting back in the CFL. Can get the short yardage.

Can't forget Lulay, and although he was in garbage time he continues to impress, making the right plays and holding his own in the pocket.

Thanks powerz and 1Sob...good calls as well.

Pass the Buck-All true commnts on those players last night. Whyte was a real difference maker especially.
And Jackson continually looks good coming in off the bench. I imagine he'll be the main guy now so 1SOB you'll get your wish here it seems.

Good luck the rest of the weekend everyone.
