All homerism aside, UGA got snubbed on this first set. It will all change next set, but I think they did this on purpose for the talking heads to discuss on the tube about the SEC. I would be surprised to see 2 SEC teams in it at the end of the year, let alone 3.

UGA imo is the most complete team in the SEC. As mentioned above, this will look a lot different in 2 weeks.

You should be happy then, potentially more line value again like their last few games with a short number. That was like stealing if you were ahead of the market.

wouldn't put much stock in yday events. if uga win out and are a 1-loss SEC champ, they're in. I don't see any chance a 1-loss SEC champ isn't in the top 4

of course i don't believe, at all, that uga are the most complete team in the sec but that's another conversation :)

imo, there are several teams in the top 16, if not all, which control there own destiny.. If you win out and have only 1 loss, combined with all of the teams that will lose in head to head games, you'll most likely get in..

I don't see anyway a two loss SEC champion isn't automatically in. I'll be curious to see how this all plays out, especially with the weakness of the ACC and B1G. If Oregon can win out and the big 12 produce a 1 loss champion, which are obviously big "ifs", I'm very curious how the committee would handle a two loss non-SEC champ versus potential one loss champions from the B1G or ACC for the fourth spot.

The most intriguing team is #17 Utah given that the Utes play EVERYONE in the Pac 12 over the next few weeks and would make a compelling case for inclusion should they end up conference champs with a 12-1 record, even with that ugly loss to Washington St.

Michigan St was actually penalized for losing to Oregon. Had the Spartans played another directional MAC school instead of the Pac 12 power, SOS would be lower but they'd be sitting pretty inside the top 4 in firm control of their own destiny with an unblemished record.

Big Tin gets it wrong time and again. It's like they are trying to make all these bold moves to steal the spot light. So far only self inflicting wounds along the way, from challenging espn, adding two mediocre programs, going to 9 conference games, doing away with the cupcakes, backloading all the division games, etc. Some of it I get from a fan excitement point of view, but its once again its "dont let em take our rose bowl mentality" over championships.

The ranking this early is about as meaningless as preseason rankings. That being said, uga's loss is the least quality of the teams ahead of them.

The month of November wrecks havoc on these rankings every year and this year probably will not be any different. If i had to rank top 10 here is what I would have...

1 Bama
2 Miss St
3 Ole Miss
4 UGA
5 Michigan State
6 ND
7 Oregon
8 FSU
9 Auburn
10 TCU

I think TCU could be the next to tumble at W Va this week. Also think SEC is very deserving to have 2 of the 4 in the playoff, if you watch that conference week in and week out the only way you disagree is because you hate the conference. There is no other conference even close.. it is bone crushing physical football every week. Look how far LSU has come now that young kids are getting their feet under them. They physically put it to ole miss on that last drive, ole miss was wore out.

Does anyone think these ranking may encourage teams on the edge of the top 4 to run up the score when given the opportunity?
