Caesars had good VP till Harrahs took over.
Vegas isn't about gambling anymore.
They are trying to become one giant nightclub that happenes to have some carnival style gambling.

There was an article in the LA Times that said people are paying $300 for a bottle of Bacardi and $400 for a bottle of Jager for poolside drink service.
And you wonder why 6/5 BJ continues to flourish :ohno:

That's the most absurd thing I've ever read.
I need to find these people and sell them some land.

$300-$400 per bottle is commonplace at the nicer clubs everywhere. If you are with a group of people, VIP bottle service is cheaper than paying at the door (after waiting in line) and ordering drinks without getting a nice table and a plethora or mixers.

$25-$40 each to get in and $14 a drink + tip. VIP is the way to go

In a few weeks I'll have more to say about Harrah's, but I can assure you they are solely in the business of taking as much money from as many people as possible.
I've asked many times why we would offer and expand 6-5 blackjack, my response direct from a Harrah's GM is "People are stupid, they'll play anyway".
Sadly, he is correct.

Seems as though Vegas is always trying to fix what isn't broken. Remember when they tried to gear it towards families? Now, they are going for the young nightclub crowd. I liked Vegas when you went there to gamble. I don't care about shows ar any of that crap. When I go I want to strictly gamble. I refuse to play that 6 to 5 crap.

Remember when the Indian casinos in California started playing blackjack, and they charged 25 cents a hand? You were supposed to place a quarter in a little circle ea. hand. That scam lasted a few months. But idiots lined up to play anyway!

After seeing that, Im sure Nevada decided they had grossly overestimated the intelligence of the California BJ player. It wasnt long after that time, they dropped to 6/5, and reduced spreads, etc.

I think it has more to do with Vegas pushing and pushing until they find the thresehold of ripping people off that finally leads to a lower total handle....and they apparently haven't reached it yet.

Commerce Casino outside LA charges $1 per hand to play blackjack, and the tables are full.
What places can you still get 3-2 at?

TK, is that Calif. BJ, with the bank rotating? Or the old game? And I forgot, the pay-per-hand was on a sliding scale, bet 50+ a hand, and it was a buck or so.

Its obvious I dont play the game, in Ca.

Not sure if this is rotating, but you can walk in and be the bank and then yes it rotates from where that person sits, if you are the bank you have to pay three bucks and its one dollar whether you bet 10 or 100 per hand, then someone can jump in and bet on your spot and if they put more down they make the call, f**ing crazy.
I have went in there a few times and left quickly, if thats not bad enough, they play six decks and it has that shuffling machine, which i hate, the only reason to go in there is to be the bank.

Sounds wild. Like the old PaiGow days. Will have to go watch it sometime, either there or @ the Bike.

Wait a minute... this is regular BJ paying 6:5? not single deck? I was in Vegas in march and didn't see any tables with 6:5. Just got back from AC and saw nothing 6:5. All Harrah's properties have treated me great as well. Maybe vegas is just different.

Terps, just got back from Vegas as well. The 6 to 5 I saw was mainly the single deck tables. The casinos I went into those tables were always vacant. Why would any1 play them I have no idea.

Wow, I'll be at Caeser's 6-24-07 for the day, I'll have to check it out. Used to be the best Sports Book around back in the 80's and 90's. Just another reason to play the dice.
