Come on Guys, you are better than that. FAU really??? I was thinking similar about Hawaii backers the other night, now for me to see that there is even 1 backer on FAU in this forum tonight is crazy. So you probably want to hear of what I think of Central Mich., personally I don't think they are anything special, nothing compared to last years team. However, they have QB Dan as I like to call him. Central Michigan's defense isnt anything special, FAU might score a few but I don't see where this should be a boring game for a Motor City Bowl. Should be a lot of scoring in this one on the astro turf, but Central Mich. will pull away because its just going to be too much for FAU to handle late. FAU will probably come out of the gates tonight with a gameplan from Smellthemburgers, but the team is awful all around, they won't be able to stay in it. I don't even really know if awful is the word, feel free to post your thoughts on a better word. Anyways, I'll be on Central Mich. -7 tonight to see if I can keep this undefeated bowl streak alive. No, I don't have my proof of my record...posted on Notre dame the other night, I don't usually post but sometimes I just feel the need to say something because of posts I just don't understand. Good luck.

A team that couldn't even dominate the Sun Belt against a Mac team...in the Mac team's backyard. Yeah, I'd say it's the right side.

C.Mich has only two wins this year by more than 3 pts. Of FAU's 6 losses, three have come at Texas, at Mich. St. and at Minnesota (this was before their meltdown). E. Mich put 56 up on C. Mich and won only their third game of the season. FAU finished the season winning 5 of L6. I'm not saying FAU is going to win or cover, I am betting FAU pretty large, but you can in no way say C. Mich is the much better team here. That's just absurd.

^I keep reading that CMU is lucky as they've won a bunch of games by 3 points and I agree with that theory usually. Thing is if we're going to account for some of their fortunate breaks let's also consider that they could have easily beat Ball St and Purdue (two teams they were beating in the 4th quarter) (sidenote they basly outplayed Purdue) and lost the said match with E Mich by just 4 (not a good game to even be close to E Mich but again could've easily been a win). Now let's also consider that while a bunch of the teams they beat by about 3 points weren't great, they probably all would have been contenders and possibly winners of the Sun Belt.

On top of that people want to say FAU is hot winning 5 of their last 6. Well they beat up on the worst team in college football (N Texas)...squeeked by a couple of bottom-20 teams (FIU, L Monroe) and a bottom 5-10 team (W Ky). They have not beaten nor played with any team of any merit. They got killed by Texas (excusable) got killed by the Golden Gophers and if it wasn't for a horrible rain storm would have been crushed by Mich St (as it was they got shut out).

Now they have a banged up O-line, a new kicker and are misisng a LB....C Mich has some secondary issues on a defense already prone to giving up lots of points is probably the only thing keeping me from unloading on C Mich. Yeah the public is all over them or whatever, I don't care. The Sun Belt sucks and even if the Mac is down there is no way it's as bad as the Sun Belt. C Mich would have run away with that conference and I'm more than willing to lay the td in their backyard.

Good luck.

^don't agree and find that a strange comment. Hawaii is a bottom-25 team probably so not sure the relevance really. They're not as bad as N Texas or W Ky or some of the other teams on FAU's schedule though.

IMO neither team is that impressive. I was going to take FLA until I see that Smith has tossed 14 interceptions to LeFevour 5 for the season. That's off 22 TD from Smith and 19 TD for LeFevour. AND, as someone who lives in Detroit, there's not a lot of buzz around this game. Sure, we locals want to see CMU win, but you're going to see a lot of empty seats on TV tonight.

FAU will be without four starters who were ruled academically ineligible. Junior OG Kevin Miller and senior OT Brandon Jackson are out along with senior LB Andre Clark and place-kicker Warley Leroy.
Clark was FAU’s fourth-leading tackler with 71 stops. Jackson had 34 career starts to his credit, while Miller had started 11 of 12 games this season. Ross Gornall, who has handled kick-off duties most of the year, will sub for Leroy.

CMU QB LeFevour, is one of the nation’s premier QBs, throwing for 2,531 yards and producing an excellent 19/5 touchdown-interception ratio in 2008, while missing two games in regular season.

FAU’s QB Smith, has thrown for 2,918 yards & finished the regular season with a 22/14 touchdown-interception ratio in 2008.

The Owls have been underdogs six times this season, posting a 2-4 spread record. CMU has compiled a 2-2 ATS mark in four games as a single-digit ‘chalk.’

The ‘under’ is 8-4 overall for FAU, but CMU has seen the ‘over’ go 6-5.

Well I feel very comfortable having my money on FAU. BTW, I got them at +7.5. If they lose, they lose. It's only one bet and the kids are the ones who will ultimately determine the outcome.

thanks for the extra info. With FAU missing players its going to make it so much tougher for this team, and as TheGuarantee stated, they are a middle of the pack sunbelt team. I just think they're going to have a lot of trouble tonight, but hey... maybe im wrong.

Good info on the lack of buzz...but that's not surprising...not going to be as much buzz as sorrounded the Purdue game, that should be apparent..still a more comfortable setting for them and they should have more fans - albeit in a possibly less than electric atmosphere.
