What is your opinion of NFL players nowadays celebrating almost every good thing they do on the field? I saw someone perform what looked like an Indian rain dance after tackling the QB for a loss last Sunday.

I think it is useless and un-needed. The players will do a fancy dance after the first score of the game, with 55 mins to play

Funny - was just discussing this on Sunday. At first I shared Pancho's sentiment (hey, what about Jeremy Shockey??) about hating the celebrations, ESPECIALLY over unmemorable or unimportant plays, but then I thought, these guys on average have a very short lifetime in the game, so what the hell. Yeah, I think it's foolish, but harmless.

But I really do hate taunting.

I must admit, I did have to laugh when I saw Warren Sapp shake that BIG BOOTY after scoring a TD

I have no problem with a celebrate after a TD, blocked kick, big stuff on 3rd/4th & inches, a play that locks the game (late INT, etc ..) ...

but I wish the officials would flag the idiots that have to do the duck walk (Randy McMichael) after a 5 yard catch at midfield in the 1st quarter. It's fuking stupid.

I said 99 & JAZZ, good job finding the one white guy.

I thought SAPP looked like a complete idiot doing that pogo stick.

Worst 'dances'
1. Icky Woods - The Icky shuffle
2. Whatever that queer ass thing Priest Holmes does
3. Eith Drew Hill or Ernest Givin (i forget whom)'s Electric Slide
4. Terrel Owens standing on the star in D
5. Terrel Owens signing the football

lander and everyone else, good call. Watching these guys celebrate after these "spectacular" plays is nothing I enjoy. It's not needed to do by these guys either.
Did anyone see ESPN's little special segment on those dances? IMO, that was funny stuff. But, if I see Sapp do another dance like that I might throw up.

I dont mind seeing a player celebrating after the first score, especially if your the home team, i think it really jacks up the crowd...makes a lot of noise for the visiting team.......but to celebrate a tackle on a kick off return as i saw the raiders do on monday night....and your down 31 to 3.....uncalled for

I like displays of emotion in the game; do we ever turn away when it occurs?

The stupidist in some time though has to be the Raider punt-returner Mon night. His team is having their head handed to them and he acts like his 40 yr return is the truth about who's the best. Then he gets beer dumped on him - definitely not going to turn away from that action!

Raider -7 look good now to me boys. In the NFL, which I don't like betting, I like to take the big counter swings as far as emotion. The Raiders have imploded long enough now that they can show some stuff and handle the lowly Char(d)gers. Watch Gannon turn in a very professional game. When everyone and his brother comes up with the same conclusion (in this case that AGE has caught up with Raiders) it's time to take the other side. I think the age thing was pretty well demonstraded against TB when that team ran circles around them. One time only - get yer Raiders here!

Hell, if I got paid 3 million a year for playing a freaking game I'd shake my ass after every play too!

I like emotion for the most part except when I have action involved and am on the losing end. Losing 31-0 in the 3rd quarter when a guy makes a tackle for no gain and acts like he just won the SuperBowl. Yeah your my hero pal.....

BTW I loved that Terrell Owens signing the football in the endzone, funny stuff.

I thought it was a brother thing too and not coming from that culture feel I am completely incapable of understanding what is going on.

Reminds me of Dominique Wilkins jawing in Larry Bird's ear, after dropping 60+ points on him in the Eastern Conference finals some years ago. Bird, sweaty, rat looking fukker, just pointed to the score board showing a few seconds left, and the Celts winning. Dominique looked........SO STUPID!!!
