If you have convinced yourself that the 52 players on the Bills are so loyal and emotionally responsive to Rex Ryan that they will give an extra effort tonight to defend his firing from NY, then you are probably the same person who picks games with a Magic 8 ball.
In no conceivable way is an athlete who has has only 3 days to rest his bruised and aching body going to give 2 shits that their game tonight is against an organization that fired his loud mouth coach. An athlete is getting his mind and body right to bring his own best personal effort. Do you think that a special teams player is thinking "I better run faster because Rex got fired from here" as he is running down the field to cover a punt??? The only thing each player cares about tonight is winning the game to stay in the playoff race,.. that's it.
These players are not going to "get up" or "bring it" to defend Rex Ryans honor. Id be willing to say that most of those guys probably wish he would shut the hell up in the media and for him to stop making an ass of himself with his Superbowl promises and guaranteeing wins.
Here's the relevant factors to picking a winner in tonight's game:
-Buffalo is the most penalized team in the NFL. (What a surprise given their coach) This will lead to gifts that extend drives and result in the Jets scoring points they shouldn't have. So please prepare yourself before you pull your hair out tonight while watching the game.
-Eric Decker has the 2nd most red zone TDs in the league... Keep an eye on him tonight.
-Will Mangold be healthy enough to support the O-Line to run the ball well?
-Will Mccoy make it through the game. Hes left the last 2 games early.
-And we all relize Tyrod is special and hes going to make some plays against a Jets D that's missing 3 of its backfield starters. But equally so, I see Fitz, Ivory, Marshall, and Decker having their way as well.
I always lean towards the home team on Thursday nights as its treated me very well historically. Im not letting the Rex Ryan revenge angle cloud my thinking (the Bills have the Pats up next by the way). The JETS have veteran leadership who are disciplined and well coached. This is very important on a short week.
Im taking the JETS off a key number at -2.5 for 1 Unit.
