great job leaving your team when they needed you the most. he was likely going to be a starter if they got past the wild card game. Why not wait another week to check in so you can play in the postseason. This is a very selfish move by CC.

why am I getting hammered here? This is definitely a selfish move, putting himself ahead of his team. I follow the Yankees regularly and he had a very solid 2 starts after getting a knee brace and it was almost certain that he would have been a playoff starter if they got through the wild card game. Now without CC the rotation is weakened. And considering how the playoffs are all about getting hot at the right time the Yankees could have made a run. Surely this isn't a problem that just came up but rather has been an issue for years. You don't become an alcoholic overnight. He could have waited another week or two before checking into rehab and pithced in the playoffs. Not like its a life or death situation. So yes this was a selfish move by CC throwing away the entire season for his team and wasting the regular season effort put up by his teammates.
You don't know if it's life or death. You don't know how bad the problem is.
You want to know what's selfish, asking someone to put sports ahead of their life, their family, and their health. It's just a game, man. If the Yankees don't win another World Series no one's world is going to end.

who says he was part of their plans this post season?
