From where I sit, he's got one foot in the door already.
(check the fat jokes at the RR please)
He's pitched exactly 10 full seasons, has 155 wins already, will win 270 (300 if he pitches another 9 season) hasn't missed a start since 2007.
I'll say that again, hasn't missed a start in 4 consecutive years, has a Cy Young, multiple all-star games, a WS ring, has double digit wins in every year he's pitched.
Very important, goes deep into the game virtually every start.
Ask any bullpen if they apprecitate that.
Sabathia's average season is 17-9, 3.58 ERA, 188K's and a very impressive 1.23 ratio. All the aforementioned numbers *significantly* better than the league average.
Has better lifetime numbers than Chris Carpenter who many say is the best in the game right now.
