If one walked along side let's say a Blackjack table with 7 people seated and he reached knocking all of the chips off of the table, in a fast sweeping motion, how does the casino assure each seated player gets their accurate chip count back?

Thanks

So the cameras are located and angled, closed in on the chips enough to count them properly?

I'm certainly no expert on the topic, but I would be pretty certain they can tell you just about everything with those cameras. Like when they have those shows like on the Travel Channel they pretty much see ALL.

Why General, you thinking about walking past a BJ table and knockin all the chips off?

So, there is very little risk that any player would get shorted I assume? Is this standard for all casinos or are there ones who would not be quite up to par with the bigger joints?

AS A TABLE GAMES DEALER FOR 12 years and counting surveilance will be able to get an accurate count. Once on a dice table I had color coming in. This is when a player puts all his chips in front of him before going home. I announced it, the box guy said bring it in a moment later he starts putting all the guys chips into the house bankroll, i tell him that was color (must have have at least 70 chips all differant colors) survelance called with an accurate count in minutes, they can get real close up and the sides of the chips are marked for easy counting. As they can also see how much any bet is on the table even when a stacked 20 or 21 high.

Thanks for your expertise on this subject.

Steve, any plans would require me to leave the house, so I don't have any. It was just a topic of conversation that came up between some friends and me tonight.

As a Securty insider let me assure you that you can't count on surveilance camera's. Even many of the newer joints on the strip are still using early 1990's analog technology. Video tape and multiplexers SUCK !

But you didn't hear that from me ... :103631605

You assume the surveillance guy is watching your table closely and has reason to come in close to look at the player stacks. Most of the time the camera is zoomed into where the dealers hands are going and the dealers rack, not paying as much attention to the details on the players side.

The house "might" be able to make everyone whole, but they might not. If you walked up with say 14 red chips and 3 green ones, didn't stack them very neatly, took chips off the table here and there and put them in your pocket or toked a cocktail girl with them...they probably wouldn't count you 100% accurately. If you buy-in with cash and only use the chips to play, they obviously could count you perfectly, but other transactions would be tougher.

One positive though is casinos are usually very forgiving on these things and will tend to err on the side of the customers. If they say they think you had 14 chips and you insist you had 15 or 16, chances are good they might give you the benefit of the doubt.

Seems there is a little disagreement here. I do like the thought of just enough camera and just enough benefit of doubt would make it work out easily a high percentage of time.
