If you can find a casino that deals single deck Blackjack with favorable rules you have a legitimate chance. There should be some houses around that deal a good game.

I win at blackjack, and ma experimenting (read: losing) at video poker online. Online vp doesn't have the same odds as offline, as far as I can tell. The relatively low jackpot payouts make it hardly worthwhile to play.

I do a lot of bonus whoring at online casinos, as they tend to be very fast and loose with the bonus money, but the only online casino at which I am a regular is The Gold Casino. I've played there for over three years steadily; they have very loose 5g blackjack and a great multiplayer poker room.

not slots, strut,
Blackjack, video poker, sports, horses, live poker.
All involve an element of skill and are dependent on factors that have already happened.

Craps, bacarrat, roulette, carnival games, slots, keno cannot be beaten. They have a fixed percentage on each outcome and the past does not affect the present.

Green-- There are many slot progressive and bonus banking slot games that are highly beatable. In fact, for about a 3 year span, they were the main source of income for me.

You can beat almost any game.

The most recognizable are poker, sports, horses, blackjack and video poker.

You would need to use a complex count or find a game with perfect rules to eek out a small edge. Basic strategy will not beat BJ. Try the game in downtown LV at the Las Vegas CLub. They deal a game where you can double down on three or four cards , get paid for 5 cards under 21 (auto win), can split AND PLAY aces, and I think a few more rule changes. The limits are lower (maybe $200).

Video Poker is doable on the right mnachine, but it requires perfect decisions. I think one mistake an hour can cost your the edge.

Poker is obvious since you play against other saps. It is hard to beat sports and horses over the long term, but people certainly do it.

Slots CAN be beaten, but only in special situations, like the ones Strut mentions. You would have to take advanteg of special promotions, or bonus banks. For example, technically, when a jackpot reaches a certain percentage, it could be statistically vaible to play. I would never personally do it though.

As for craps, roulette, and baccarat, no matter what anyone tells you, these games can not be beaten. The only way would be to cheat, factor in your comps, or take advantage of special rule promotions (Bonus Bets, etc.).

Strut, I will agree with you on that, I'd have to say that is a separate category, what would we call it bonus/progressive slots. Of course, if the payback is over 100% and it's fixed you can't lose if you have the bankroll to withstand the large fluctuations.

If that were the case, lotteries and megabucks all have a point where, the expectations are positive. However, the bankroll requirements and short term luck come largely into play with these.

1. single deck blackjack
2. craps..(avoiding prop bets with exception of hedging)

With the progressives, yes. Not so with the bonus games. In the old days, one could start with less than a c-note and have about a 98% chance of turning that into a HUGE bankroll......all depending on how many hours you were willing to work. You still can do the same today, but at a MUCH MUCH slower rate due to the unavailability of games, more people in the know on these type games, and other factors.
In the late 90's, personally averaged about 12 hours a day on these type games and video poker. Some of the best places for these type slots were at Treasure Island, Imperial Palace, Mirage, Tropicana, Sands......although they were virtually at every casino. Overall, Treasure Island was pretty sweet for a long time.

Full pay deuces wild at a lot of casinos in Las Vegas.

Also the progressive VP jackpots can be profitable.

Counting BJ can beat that game but sure is stressful with all those pit critters.

And of course remember to bring a large bankroll,

Full-pay dueces (100.7%) will not make you much money in Vegas as they are 99.9% of the 25 cent variety. Overall, 10/7 Double Bonus(100.17%) offers a much higher earning ratio because the game can be found in the $1-$5 variety. Couple that with a good slot card and a good promotion.......you have a silver mine.

Steer well clear of Slots.

You can reduce the house edge on blackjack, craps and VP by employing a decent strategy (e.g. Basic Stategy on BJ), but you will not be able to give yourself an edge.

The only way to do it is to use a strong playing strategy with a bonus. Then, on BJ, craps and VP you can give yourself a - tiny - edge. Need to be disciplined and play for the long term (otherwise the % is meaningless). Casinos win over the long-haul, not over individual playing sessions.

Finding a casino that lets you play BJ or craps with a bonus is tough, most either stop you or massively increase the play through requirements.

Look at book's casino, rather than a casino-only outfit as they might be less aware of bonus manipulation than you might think.
