I just checked their site. Now I'm a little concerned ! They flash 50 % bonuses, broken down to 20 % initial, 20% re-load, 10 % referral.

I know they've changed some stuff, website is different. I don't like this !

I've always loved this book, but they've taken on a look, that makes me wonder if they are getting desperate !

I may be paronoid, but a few warning signs are present.

Any thoughts ?

I believe they have ceased their 5 or 10 percent rebate on losses program. This new bonus structure may be replacing it.

Wilheim: I believe you are correct, but I don't like this look, it still signals " desperate" to me, or at a minimum " tacky"

I'm concerned a lot of books are going down soon, there are too many. All can't survive !

Wal-mart ( Pinnacle ) has to kill some off.

That's cool, I have a problem reading articles here, so I've learned to skip them. I can understand why CBS ( broadcasting) wants to differientiate themselves from Casablanca, they certainly had CBS earlier ! Casablanca wise to back down here ! I feel better, now.

If my name was McDonald, and I opened a restaurant, I'd have a hard time calling my restaurant McDonald's !. even if my menu was way different. I'd have to change it, name isn't mine, anymore... same with CBS.

I read the post on MW.

Dave Johnson is lying (as usual).

I was the original programmer for his website. The original domain was wagerweb.com
I was in Dave Johnson's office when the story about CBS Sportline's connection to the gaming industry became public.
Dave Johnson said that he wanted to get a domain name using CBS to cash in on that publicity. He even had his graphics guy use a logo that was similar to CBS's font on their brochures and website (which got them in trouble with CBS at some point).

The betcbs.com domain was registered in March 1999 (not 7 years ago as claimed in the posting by clevfan). Casablanca never even had a website until Nov/Dec 1998 (and that domain was wagerweb.com).

Here is Casablanca's logo circa June 2000:

I wish CBS the best of luck in its well-justified suit against Casablanca.

Many people warned Casablanca NOT to use the CBS trademark, including yours truly. They knew it was misleading and wrong. They are experienced advertisors hoping they'd be out of reach of the law but they are not...

I wouldn't worry about your funds being safe because they have always paid out in a timely manner but until this gets resolved, I would tread very lightly...

If this is a true statement, are we assuming that it means CBS Broadcasting will be booking bets in the future or they have this on their mind currently?

General,

I am sure CBS has no intentions of booking bets, but rather it is a lame excuse by the Defendant in my opinion...

Don't you have to be skeptical of any company underhanded enough to pull this sh!t?

Packer,

I agree with you. They are probably thinking the lawsuit may bring them more traffic, too...

Shrink-
Thanks for the supporting background info about your own warnings to them.

BTW, have you visited their operation in CR lately? I broke off with them over a year ago, but a friend told me a few months ago that their office building was looking like a ghost town, and they were considering moving into smaller quarters. This description doesn't jibe with "250 professionals" and their implied growth, though it is always possible that they could have brought in some new clients recently. Shrink, have you heard anything either way?

Dammit, CBS's neteller balance has remained loaded for over a week now. Was hoping it would go empty like it has in the past, so I could get a free fedex before having to fulfill the neteller withdrawal requirements. What a great book though, the only one left that I know of that does not charge for neteller payouts and now they have gone back to 20% bonuses with a max of 1,000. Now if they go back to 5000 max bets and payout on the weekend they will really be at the upper echelon.

More evidence of their inconsistent claim...

On the Casablanca, they write:

quote:
The good name and reputation of CasaBlanca Sports (betCBS), subsequently became CasaBlanca Gaming (betCG.com) which still rates the title, "The Trusted Name in Gaming."

Notice they write the B in capital letters in both cases, but why didn't they pick betCBG.com? Answer: because CBS is a famous trademark and CBG isn't.

The people running the show are even less trustworthy than the "name".

Java,

Just curious why you left BetCBS, you are one of the very few that I've ever heard put Casablanca down.Seems to me they have an excellent pay history and most enjoy the benefits/offers from the company. Why are you so bitter? Thanks
