I really think that it more behind the stepping down from the front office in the way of Jon,Mark Rickardson than the media and public knows at this time.During the time Mr Rickardson was having the heart problems and the way jon and mark handle the peppers thing and the money with jake, i really think this causes problems between old man Rickardson and the sons, but we will see if this causes problems on the field in the reg season. ck
Not sure what the heck going on in the queen city with this team as most people in this area are very unhappy with this team and the way they have not drafted for the future.Not sure why they hung everything on a overpaid Jake, they got a offense cord from clev and a defense cord from indy, what a mess for carolina..............look to me a bad team for yr to come now.just my thoughts here....ck

While the Panthers seem to be on the downswing...both the Saints and the Falcons seem to be peaking. Deangelo Williams is definitely legit, but I think they need too many other position upgrades to scare anyone. I don't think the Panthers are a threat to make the playoffs when it's all said and done. The Saints also have their weaknesses (secondary/running) but it seems like they have improved greatly from last year to this year. Getting Gregg Williams as the new defensive coordinator has already paid off and adding Darren Sharper to the mix has proved to be very beneficial. They are pretty thin at linebacker and Reggie Bush needs a huge turnaround to live up to the hype. Pierre Thomas and Mike Bell look like they have a chance to make everyone living in the boot forget about the USC has been. At the end of the day they have Drew Brees and have a chance to beat anyone on any given night especially if playing in the Dome. The Falcons might actually be the best in the NFC south w/ excellent skill players on offense. I don't know who will come out on top when it's all said and done, but I am willing to bet the Panthers won't even be close.
