17:59. good flow to the start of the game. 3 easy shots on goal, but at least both teams are moving up and down. carolina player flopped for pentalty, good thing ref didnt call it. carolina player does nothing and allows the assist and then the put away. call being reviewed but it should hold up, wasn't off the mooring. 1 0 boston

14:56: all boston right now. they can get any shot they want, while carolina settles for long slap shots. boston has been around the net the whole game and got a nice shot from montador to make it 2-0. boston looks very good, ,carolina is a no show so far.

9:14: carolina looks to be more aggressive on the offensive end, but leaves them vulnerable at the back. there shots are still long range, but they had 1 or 2 rebounds they could've done something with but didnt. they need better shots.

carolina has looked a lot better the last few minutes....its weird boston has a 2 goal lead and i really dont feel all that safe...id really LOVE to see boston get the next one and really take the wind out of their sails...

5:16 best stretch of the game so far. i thought boston had another goal for a second, but noticed it was a fly on the TV instead of the puck that hit the pads. carolina had 2 real good chances. boston almost had a 3rd one where thehurricanes defender basically saved him from having a 1 on 1 with the goalie.

If there is a conspiracy theory, no way the league wants Anaheim or Carolina to advance.

30.1 carolina had there best shot when the guy did the pass between the legs and the shot was spot on, thomas just had a brilliant save. the game has completely reversed, carolina is playing like boston in the beginning, boston just clinging for the end of the period. could very well see a goal in the next 30 seconds with that penalty and the way hurricanes are playing.

Overall thoughts: The game is a good game so far. I'm entertained. I haven't even checked out the score for the Celtic game, I will now since it's intermission. Thereweren't long periods of stuttered play, both teams were up and down, and there were lots of goal scoring opportunities.

I'm not a huge hockey buff, really only follow the Flyers, but I'm hooked on playoff hockey, personally. My favorite playoffs by far.

17:11 all the pressure finally paid off for carolina. carolina was doddling around for a bit, but that was a solid goal.

12:37. the game has slowed down. both teams look like they dont want to make a mistake. slapshots from way out and a lot of behnd the goal and between blue line play, sprinkled in with hits around the corner.

11:07. boston just comes out of nowhere and picks it up. Solid combo goal between Lucin and Savaard. Boston almost had a goal on a wrap around, and the hurricanes defender also stood up another boston player to prevent a goal, but not enough. boston 3 1

9:23. not much going on. the question now is will boston go for 4 or shell up defensively and let carolina kill themselves on there own.
