I know future bets are generally a waste of time but just for fun I like to put a little money on what I think is the best one I can find at a safe book this time of year. Quite possibly this is an overlay, but that's a matter of opinion of course.

I thought the same thing when I saw it at pinnacle at 25-1. Great value IMHO.

I think it's no more than fair. Remember it's going to be very hard for this team to even reach the playoffs next year with the division they're in - the NFC's toughest at the moment. Also look at how many games they won in OT last year. I think they may go the way of Chicago a couple of years ago.

I know you'll probably laugh at this, but what about Detroit at 250/1? With another year for Mariucci a fully fit Rogers and Jauron at def.coord there must be some improvement. After all they can't get worse. Some people would have laughed at Carolina before last year, but I suppose they did show that they had a good defense in 2002.
I also like Chicago and the Giants at big prices as well as my favourite perennial underachievers those Saints!

I love a lot of these prices on underdogs that are floating around and cases can be made for most. However, two will never be considered by me unless they change their ownership: Cards and Lions. No matter what other variables are changed the incompetence of owners there is just too great and too proven to put a single dollar on them winning SB.

no way in hell with the lions
id lay 25 grand to win 100 dollars that they wouldn't win before i'd lay 1 dollar to win 250 that they would win

Hey Jimmy you are so right. They just don't have enough guys with thick thighs who were bred for the Game!

WHO HAS IT AT 250-1???? THE LIONS THAT IS.

LOOKING AT THE RAVENS EARLY ON IF YOU CAN GET 35 THRU 50-1.

I DO AGREE WITH THE LIONS AT 250-1...ALMOST ANYONE AT THAT ODDS...ALMOST I SAID.

I see the Lions are 150/1 in a place and generally 100s in Europe. I'm not on at 250, but after this draft surely they'll be able to win one on the road?!
Still won't be rushing to back them though. Has a team with a rookie RB, WR and a 2nd year WR who only played half a little last year ever done much in the NFL? Normally you need some experience and there isn't even that at QB.
I'm trying to think of a top offense recently with so little experience that has performed well.

Ravens will be a good future right now, just in case they go out and grab Collins at QB. Collins won't have to win every game since he would have a strong defense and some guy named Jamal in the backfield. If they grab Collins I think their value will drop in a heart beat.

Due to the results the past couple of years, bookies are taking no chances. According to Oddschecker, the best price of every Team equates to 112% margin, which tells you straight away what you are up against.

As with beauty, value is in the eye of the beholder. I said it last year and will say it again, in order to get value you must give yourself a cushion of 7/1 in the play-offs. Price the division yourself and multiply the odds by 8, that will give you an idea of what value your getting.

As for Carolina, I have not priced the divisions up yet but with them being 2/1 best with the books, X 8 puts it right on the 25/1, any less would not be value. Rather than jump in now, the real value can be found after 3-4 games where a Team has lost a couple for good reasons( tough road games, injuries, etc) If you think there is good reason for them to bounce back, especially if the games lost were non-divisional, outstanding prices can be found.

What does everyone think of Dallas and Denver.

I think these are two teams that were good last year but only got better this year.

Haven't seen their odds at all yet but I think the Cowboys would be one of the best bets now.

For the record I absolutely hate the Cowboys (Bills fan) but if they do go ahead and sign Kerry Collins that is a huge upgrade at QB. Maybe it is just me but I think the Cowboys have a very good opportunity to pick up Eddie George this June. Eddie might not take a $3 million dollar deduction, when he knows the Cowboys need a RB and would offer what he is making now. Would be a huge upgrade at RB.

Just my thoughts
