Very curious if any other posters have run into this. Joined Carib (seem reliable, and I love using PPATM), however, I requested Western Union deposit instructions, and part the the response was....

"Additionally, for Western Union transfers, we would appreciate if you can submit to us the last four digits of your Social Security number so as to promptly expedite the processing of your wiring transfer. Hope this helps,

Actually, no it doesn't help. Never been asked this before by any book. I'm not sure how this can be of assistance. I never gave WU agents my SSN, and I've never given it to Carib (at least to my knowledge), so how would it benefit now? Enquiring minds wanna know

For security reasons. Its a number that you will never forget. Its for your protection. What could they possibly do with the last 4 digits of your ss* that would worry you?

WU will ask for this number on payouts over 3k, it may even be as low as 2k now

Bernie- Western Union requires the SSN for any transaction of $1000 or more I believe. That's part of their form actually and is even listed on the right side of the green form when you make a deposit. However, Carib has no need for any part of your SSN. Give them the #6969 if they insist.

Soccerbob;
My thoughts exactly. I was aware of the WU requirements, but not sure where it benefits in giving info to Carib. They may claim it's for security reasons, but that's what my username / passowrd is for. I've requested / received four-figure payouts from other books via western union, and was never asked for this info.....just confused

There is NO reason for a book to request the last four digits of your SS #!

But at least that makes more sense than a book asking for your favorite color! (And then telling you it's because Neteller requires it).

I love Carib, but yes I had to give a 4 digit # to them bout 5 months ago. Its weird cause I only had to do this once. Why only once?? Had numerous Western Union withdrawls since and didn't have to give it! Makes one wonder if feds are involved, its weird coming from a Carib lover as myself! Their PPATM is absolutely #1. Makes one wonder if they track and keep records as to how much you withdraw and you are being recorded . If so I'm not worried cause i'm in the red with them,lol.

They seem to be worried about the big ML since the banking issue. They are a haven for players to transfer monies via buddy transfers and book transfers because so they probably have a kazillion guys playing under an alias. When push comes to shove and you have to get a big payoff you better have a good social security ID!!!!
