and I think they are going to continue to struggle unless Pujols hits 3 homers a game. They seem a lot weaker this year than in the past. Their offense pretty much consists of Pujols and Rolen right now. I don't see them making it far in the playoffs, if they even make it, unless they make a move to pick up another stick.
Yeah, they're struggling up and down the lineup right now except for Albert. Remember, Eckstein had a career year last year and Grudaneliek (sp) also had a great year at the top of the order.
Sanders was streaky as heck, but when on a hot streak was the 2nd best hitter in the lineup considering Rolen was out almost all year.
Also, the NL Central is better out of the gate in 2006 than it has been lately

believe NL central had the best record last year and they are tops in the Majors this year...too many people think teams struggle or are doing awesome....got to play more than 30 games to decide that.
Pitching wins games...always does...Cards led NL in ERA last year (overall, starting, and relieving)...they are currently 3rd in MLB in ERA. They are not getting those big hits right now but Encarnacion is just now heating up. Rolen missed a week with bronchitis and Edmonds has 20 RBI while hitting .200...he's always been a streaky hitter. Wait til it warms up and the balls start flyin...Cards will be atop the NL again!!
