Capping MLB 2007 #101a Ov/Un plus Las Vegas Q&A

MLB data Collectors. Pay some fucken attention. Your making a simple project into a circle jerk. I could already have done most of April schedule in abut 10% of the time that i've been spending trying to get a bunch of dumb ass to figure out a few simple things. My 3 year old grand kids appear to be smarter that most i'm trying to deal with here.

The process is so simple, everyone says that want to help, but yet cant follow a few simple set of instructions.

1. You asked to help out and learn to cap and use the various programs
2. you receive an initial email with the computer and software requirements as well as work load requirements for the year
3. you reply back that your capable of meeting those requirements
4. you receive the spreadsheet packages from last year so that you can start getting an understanding of the various programs and how to use them along with last thread show notes as well as this years pdws and instructions on how they are filled out
5. i send your name to geppi to put on the mlb roster
6. you confirm your handle etc to geppi
7. geppi add you to this years cappers list and go on my schedule
8. you receive notification of your turn in the box for your 1 week of data collection
9. do all your data collections as per the pdws instructions
10 i update all the 2007 programs using your pdws data
11 i send out updates to the spreadsheets 2 a week
12 you cap the games using these programs and any external data you find useful
13. post in the thread from time to time regarding any good patterns you see
14. hopefully most make some money

were not building a space station here, were only breaking up the 7 month season into 7 hour per week buckets of work for each person that is going to follow mlb, vs a few people doing 23 hours of work per day to try and keep all of this information updated

Not sure how this will play out but I was listeneing to the ESPN morning guys and they had a NCAA basketball anyalst on talking about the OSU/Georgetown game. He is predicting both teams will play a Providence style zone all game long which will mean a very low scoring game.

Anyone else listen to that interview?

L, that the problem. turn the fucken sound off when you watch espn and the rest of those talking heads. they wind up giving you opinions on the game, theirs, vs just paying attention to the stats, data and line moves. never bet opinions

from this point on geppi will be handling all the scheduling, and he will notify those that are schedule for may. if you do confirm back to him that you received the info and can comply, you will just be dropped from any further updates. If you cant handle 5-6 hours in one week i dont need your help or the aggravation doing any re schedules etc. shit or get off the pot

the 1st two already know this but the person that is doing pdws for that week will also send copies of these sheet to the next person on the list so that they can be trained and ready when there week starts

geppi and i should have a schedule out shortly for the next month or two. and you will get notified in groups of two, so if you want to work together with respect to date swapping etc that's fine with me, but the person with that week will be the one responsible for making sure that everything is done in a timely manner

i'm still in the process of doing additional data mining, if successful it will further reduce the time requirements of those collecting data on a weekly basis. the major reason for the collecting of the data is to understand where and how you get the information, and how it fits into the entire system. Last year i took smaller steps than we will be doing this year. The spreadsheet came together and enable us to make much more progress than expected. So this year more automation and less grunt work, which leave more time for analysis, which leads to better capping and mo $$$. that what it's all about

the reason for the drop down is that the field abv and names need to stay the same for all program to work properly and find all of those unique events etc

Here's some trends on tonight's NIT game, I borrowed from a poster at Statfox. Not trying to persaude anyone towards W Virginia.

West Virginia is a money-making 5-2 ATS in neutral court games, 10-2 ATS in non-conference games, 17-7 ATS in tournament games, including an impressive 9-1 ATS in post-season tournament action, and 9-2 ATS following 3 or more consecutive wins.

Meanwhile. Mountaineer head coach John Beilein is one of the best coaches in the land for sports investors as he is a money-making 21-8 ATS in March, 38-19 ATS in non-conference games and 12-1 ATS in post-season tournament action, including 5-1 ATS in the NIT.

Clemson is wholly unreliable in close contests as they are shooting a woeful 57.8% from the foul line, including 54% over their last five games. Conversely, West Virginia is solid from fhe charity stripe as they are sinking 76.3% of their attempts on the road this season

Pops, I have a friend of mine who used to pitch in the majors in the late 80s and early 90s.
