Just started doing this. Ran my virus and spyware software and nothing shows. I can be in the Rx and open another window and when i try to exit, no response. I keep pushing and nothing happens until finally i get a box saying program not responding. I have to exit the probram or push cancel. it doesn't affect the original page i was on. Does this every time.:think2:
If you have FireFox, try doing the same steps in there and see if it works in there.
sounds like a IE 7 issue with hanging up. Make sure you have all the latest updates. If you ever have trouble with a program closing, remember you can press ctrl + alt + delete at the same time and choose the application tab at the top. Then make sure one is highlighted and click on end task.

How much RAM\memory does your computer have? (This could be the cause if it's running out of resources).
If you have at least 1gb of RAM(ideally 1.5-2), ignore the part below.
NOTE: You will lose all saved login info, passwords, add-ins and other customizations to IE, but this fixes a lot of things.....
Go to Tools\Internet Options\Advanced\Reset and allow it to reset everything. I recented did this and it REALLY helped with the speed and occasional crash issues.
