Candian checks

Got one for 3 grand was told by the teller that they would need to have a 7 day business day hold then got a call today advising could take 4-6 weeks after it goes thru all the channels? Called You Wager they said some banks tell customers that but they have never seen it take that long?

With my credit union it normally takes a week or so. the 4-6 is probably to just cover themselves

Try not to ever deposit via a live teller. They dont know a thing for the most part and are told to be on the lookout for scam checks. If you keep an avg balance higher than the amount of the check the hold wont be near as long. The one time i was questioned by a teller i just kinda gave her the offended that she asked attitude and told her id been working for these people for 5 years and had no doubt they were legit, ill find out if it bounces when u send me the notice with your $35 NSF charge. She didnt say another word.

They have to send Canadian checks for "collection". Process takes 2-3 weeks. You won't know for sure if the funds are good for 21 days. Usually, they chg a fee for this...$10-25 per check.

21 days until your bank is sure the funds are good. They should credit your acct when they know. If they wait longer than that, find another bank

I say find another bank if this is already happening to you. Local Credit Union Here. I cash mine of Wednesday when they arrive, and I'm good to go by the following Friday at the latest.

They asked me one time if I knew the people sending the checks and I said, "YES! They owe me a debt, so I don't care how they pay, but be expecting more of these..." Not another word since.

If they charge a Fee, find another Bank.

Bank of America, Wells frago and BBT takes 3 days and no charge

They have to give it the maple syrup sniff test to insure it has not been used in any illegal syrup laundrying schemes
