Doing this every day at the track during a meet. Just select a random number for the day and an alternate in case the original number is scratched. Can you buy a house wagering on the ponies like this? Wagering WPS.

Thanks

not in the long run, imo. tried that once with the #2 horse at Ellis Park simulcasting. about 4 different tracks. funny thing, hit a few nice ones, 12-1 to 23-1, but most of the 8-5, 5-2,ect horses finished out of the money that night.

I love the ponies. I have had more success picking numbers than capping the field.

Pete horse players are losers period. It is the biggest sucker game in the world.

It cannot be beat period. Play for fun with a few $2 win bets and get out or you will be broke. I never met a horse player that was not broke.

We will have to meet then someday JJGOLD...

There are many horse players that make BIG money at the ponies..I know some guys who just play Woodbine for a living...Mind you they are at the track 24/7 but still very profitable..You have to know what you are doing...Too back it up check out my horse thread and compare with results and you will be impressed...Horses are for people who are very detail oriented.IMO

There is no doubt in my mind that I am a lifetime loser with horses. 10 races and $5 a cup beers is hard to overcome.

Pete Rose Jr. says it very well.

This is a detailed game. One must have tons of patience to sit sit sit sit sit and make no play unless getting a minimium of 3 -1 on a horse. Records must be kept. Handicapping must be UNIFORM seperating sprints from routes; Males from Females and so on and so forth. Tracks and trainers detailed records. And daily speed figures from ONE source are the key.

Tougher than handicapping a baseball game--but--a thrill like no other if you have the patience.

And NO ONE GIVES out winners!! It's taking $ from their own pocket!

the best days to bet imo is Breeders Cup day and the day before and the day of the 3 triple crown races. I've found those days to be the best in terms of getting good value on your money. Also the two best meets imo for your money are Delmar and Keenlands spring and fall meets as well. Santa Anita's meets are good too.

General, you sound like a chick betting numbers like that. Handicap a race and bet value and you will come out ahead. I've made 10 times betting horses what I've made in other sports.

I had a buddy i used to work with devised a system, that he could constantly win with, and to be honest, it is really simple....U must have a bankroll to start with though, but actually its a gtd winner...

He would choose 2-3 tracks for the day, usually always Turfway, because of how they finish....

He devised that he wanted a 30.00 each profit from posts 1,2,3.........

So in the first race, he bets according to the odds what he needs to win 30.00 on each number.....If the horse hits, he is 30.00 ahead for that number, and stops on that number til he hits the other 2.....

each race factoring in what he lost for that number so far, he bets enough to cover those, and his 30.00 profit....Since he starts with a small profit margin for each number, the bets dont escalate too rapidly.....and on a few occasions, a number went cold, if he got over 100.00 down on a number, he only plays for the 100.00, (basically breaking it into 2), so the amounts dont escalate too fast....You would be amazed how many days he would cycle through all 3 numbers twice, for a 180.00 profit......and he always carried over the figures to the next day, thus always insuring a 30.00 profit on each number each time.....its a grind it out system, that you have to have money to play, but in actuality it is a guaranteed winner, unless a #2 horse never wins a race again.....

Horses are a numbers game period and you have just as good as a chance throwing out your phone number as to handicapping races.

There are lots of professional horse players in the world...it's not easy, and many will focus the vast majority of their energy on the exotics, where a life altering score can be had...for the folks that know what they're doing, have the proper discpline and money mgt, it can be a quite profitable business...

JJgold, I do not post much, but I do respect the fiction you post regularly. And your words that horses cannot be beat and is sucker's game is fiction as usually. The horses can be beat, especially with a 5-7% rebate. And by the way, I am not broke.

Maybe it can be beat, but not by betting a certain number for said day. That should result in a long-term loss of about 18 %.

I believe horses are way harder than sports. If you can beat horses, you should do well with sports, poker, BJ, etc.

Most horse guys look like old bums !

What is future of Horse racing, anyway ? If everybody bets offshore at Pinny and such, the game dies ! Tracks need live on-site handle, to pay purses.

This game dies, 10 years from now, there won't be a single track left in existance. The sport of Kings, is dead meat.
