Can you really make a Profit in baseball?

I have never played baseball before can you really make money betting on baseball? My season usually ens after the nba playoffs. Where would some of you rank baseball in terms of easiest sports to make money on?

1. College Basketball
2. MLB
3. NFL
4. NCAAF
5. NBA

Other non-major sports that are profitable: hockey, soccer, WNCAA.

I was really surprised to see that someone has the exact same order that I'd have in making a profit in. For baseball, I didn't rank it #1 only because it's a percentage game against your moneyline selection (i.e. picking a bet at -124 means you need to win 55.24% of the time to *at least break even*).

But what I love MLB the most is the fact there are games everyday from opening day to end of regular season except the day before/after the All-Star. Enough said. That's volume right there.

NBA, I think we actually have a better chance choosing EVEN/ODD or BLACK/RED in roulette than which team would cover the spread, LOL.

baseball & college hoop totals i'd say are the best money makers. iv'e seen a lot of people say & i agree that the nfl is the toughest to make money on. makes sense when you think about it too. only 1 game a week per team for the oddsmakers to focus on so the lines are usually very tight. baseball has so many variables it makes it extremely difficult for the oddsmakers to avoid making a bad line on a fairly regular basis.

yes.

1) use dime line books (it should be -110/+100 not -110/-110)
2) lay off teh big faves. small faves and dogs are where it's at
3) totals can be beat

baseball is a streaky game. try betting into the streaks and you'll do OK.

are moneyline bets the way to here? Or does anyone bet, will there be a score in the first inning? It seems like no would win 75% of the time.

If you bet no in 1st inning you will get killed. My friend tried this last year. The first few games for the most part their is no score but once they get going you will get murdered.

Just bet it like a regular sport. I have trouble with RL's, others use them well. Find your strength whether it be totals, ML etc and stick with it.

1st inning is actually one the most scoring innings out of the 9 innings played..

got the top of the order of both lineups and pitchers may not be in the groove yet...
