Vernon Adams had been healthy all year.....

now listen, I debated on whether or not to post this thread because I know some people are going to come out of the woodwork calling me every name in the book, and that's fine..... But let me say this... I don't like playing the "what could have been" scenarios anymore than the next person, and I understand as much as anyone how atrocious the orego defense was the first half of the season. I also am completely aware of the backup QB situation and how dysfunctional/appalling that was... But just for thoughts I got to thinking about it all...

its td likely that Oregon wins that Michigan state game on the overthrown ball Adams didn't have any touch for, or the many other throws he "sailed" and the few he under threw that led to picks.... I call it 50/50.... Maybe they win that game, maybe not.... Regardless, they would have pummeled wazoo in a game that probably would have been 65-48.... Leaving them with two losses because let's be honest, they still would have got wrecked at home by utah, that was just a catastrophe of epic proportions.... But that wazoo loss cost them the pac 12 title, and with only two losses coming to top 10 teams at the time and playing for another pac 12 title......... I'll just say this..... It would be very interesting

on a more serious note, I'm truly amazed by what Vernon Adams does. He got written off by many on this forum and many around the country, but plain and simple, the dude has balled out. In my eyes he's got one of the hottest hands in the country right now I'm terms of passing.... Him, Matt Johnson, baker mayfield and doughty from WKU.... The dude is legit, I tip my cap to him.

For or what it's worth I hope Stanford gets in to the playoffs, I think even with their loss to Oregon and northwestern they are still a fantastic team

just wanted to stir up a little conversation amongst everyone.

How ironic that Adams old team might have been the reason the Ducks didn't win the Pac 12 or get into the playoffs.

Cmon, ducks still don't have the d and o-line it takes, they definitely turned their season around though

The Duck's D-line had little if any support from their DBs in running situations. True that an experienced bunch of big men could have kept things more under control but as I recall, it was a very green bunch of defensive DBs that caused there to be a lot more pressure put on their offense, especially at the start of the season through the first 6 weeks.

As far as their O-line goes, no complaints from me. Aside from Adams finding ways to extend plays with his feet, between Addison, Griffin and Freeman's different running styles, all of them very successful, the Ducks rushing game has been deadly. And then add to that Adams amazing accuracy (we were warned about that) and the Duck offense looked quite normal to me. Business as usual.

Injury or no injury, Adams was expected to learn the system in no time and that was also a factor that made things a bit more difficult in the beginning. But not lately. They've been playing as well as anyone in the nation.

No rebuilding needed when you are reloading.

Ducks are far better than week in 2 for sure. Who ever they get in a bowl game they will beat ...UNLESS - the Bowl opponent they play has averaged giving up less than 21 points on defense against bowl level teams. We'll have to wait and see who they get matched up with.

My guess is the Alamo bowl, likely playing ok state.... That's my guess... I'll take that matchup all day... I'd really like to see Oregon square up against a team like navy or temple tho... Something completely out of the ordinary.
