Can you bench press your weight?

I never 1RM, but bench 225 and 250 for reps. So I should be able to put up 300+.

I'm a bigger guy though 6' 235

If true, this is very impressive.

its true, reformed fat kid paranoid about getting there again so I've gone the other way and become a gym rat. I'm meticulous with my diet and training, working with a competition level trainer not ever going to compete just to make sure I train efficiently. Took a shit load of time and hard work to get me to this point.

When I use to work out regularly, I weighed about 180 and would do a set of 15 reps @ 175lbs, a set of 10 reps @ 195lbs and then usually would do 225, but could only manager about 4 reps.

Now, I no longer weigh 180 and probably wouldn't be able to bench the bar!

Im 5'10 165 lbs. I benched 205 3 times last week in gym. I need to work on lower body more than i do. Push ups, sit-ups, pull-ups and running will get you and keep you in shape. Thats all we did in the corps.

5'10'' and about 255. Probably could still get my weight 8-12 times. Where not being able to train has hurt me is in the max department but max doesn't matter anymore now that football is over.

yes, weigh about 225. have not touched weights for years. i would be lucky right now to be able to get it five times. might have to dust off the weights and give it a shot.

I could never do much with the bench press. Must be my physiology. Before knee injuries set in, I could squat and leg press more than most of the bigger guys in my gym, but I must have always had some type of weakness that prevented me from putting up a big bench. When I was in my early to mid 30's, in the best shape of my life, I could bench more than my weight, and regularly did, but that didn't last very long.

Now, my elbows and shoulder are riddled with arthritis and i'm lucky to be able to get 165 up for any kind of reps.
