how a team that average 9.7 points a game is favored by 9.5 this weekend?

Offense

<table class="data" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="1"><tbody><tr> <td class="datahl2"> </td> <td class="datahl2c">Record </td> <td class="datahl2c">Rank </td> </tr> <tr> <td class="datahl2">Total Yards </td> <td class="datacellc"> 230.7</td> <td class="datacellc"> 118</td> </tr> <tr> <td class="datahl2">Passing Yards</td> <td class="datacellc"> 142.7</td> <td class="datacellc"> 109</td> </tr> <tr> <td class="datahl2">Rushing Yards</td> <td class="datacellc"> 88</td> <td class="datacellc"> 109</td> </tr> <tr> <td class="datahl2">Points Scored</td> <td class="datacellc"> 9.7</td> <td class="datacellc"> 116</td> </tr> </tbody></table>

Either way this game will go way over the total with these two crappy defenses.

Much less banter tonight. Trust me, that is a good thing. Sleep on it. The #s will be there tomorrow.

Rule of thumb for me is not to ask a team to do something they show they can't do. For instance if a team has problems scoring, I am not asking them to cover double digits or anything close to it.

James Wright is the answer to your question and a possible QB change. NMST will have trouble stopping Wright they're infamous for having trouble stopping the run hence why they switched from a 3-3-5 defense to a 4-3 defense

NMSU's offense is just as bad. They are probably the worst team in FBS. After losing Chase Holbrook & Chris Williams from a 3-9 team and switching from Mumme's spread to a pro-style attack, you kind of figured they were in for a long year. They could give me 28 for the total and I would still probably take the Under haha.

BTW Lobos fans, who gets the nod at QB? Porterie or B.R. Holbrook? Don't worry, I'm sure that Mike won't let Meiko go elsewhere. He will dub thee his "QB of the future" and start him from Day 1 in 2010, land a few more kids from the DC area (Melvin Alaeze's - yes the 5-star who bombed out Melvin Alaeze - little bro is highly interested in the Lobos) and you will be fine. He knows how to recruit.

NMST can run the ball do not ask them to score any points.

178 yards a game and 4.31 a carry and only averaging 13 points a game.

R/GM R/PP Points avg
<table class="data" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="1"><tbody><tr><td class="datahl2">
</td> <td class="datacell"> 178.3</td> <td class="datacell"> 4.31</td> <td class="datacell">
</td> <td class="datacell"> 13.0</td></tr></tbody></table>
I don't think i have ever seen a team that can run the ball and score so little. very bizarre team.
