Also, I want you to click start->run->msconfig

If you are running Vista, just type msconfig into the "Start Search" bar on the start menu

When the System Configuration box pops up, click on the Startup tab. These are the programs that start up every time your computer boots up. We want to shut a lot of them down. Come back here and tell me if most/all of the boxes in that tab are checked.

No it didn't take that long. Cancel the scan. Do you have any friends who are good with computers? They may be able to help a lot more than I can over a message board; it sounds like you have some deep problems with your poon-crippled desktop

You got a virus or at the very least spyware.

Go to trend.com & run the free online scan. Then get ad-aware from download.com.

Limewire is bad news.....and you found out why.

Looking to run a scan (I have somthing-getting popups, cant access email, and got a red screen with the symbol of toxic chemicals). It is a virus (or spyware) that prompts me to download an antivirus program. Googled it and found out once you download this bogus antivirus you get hit with the mother virus.

Anyway, went to trends.com and its all in chinese! Any other place I can go to get free help? Thanks.
