Can Someone (Computer Guy) Explain to Me Why My Computer will Not Let Me Download?

Whenever I download something, and double click on the icon, nothing happens!!!

For instance, I tried to download and install yahoo messenger. and it supposedly downloaded, but would not open!!! any help would be much appreciated!!! Thanks guys!!!

I TRIED DOWNLOADING THAT ADAWARE BUT EVEN THAT WOULD NOT OPEN!!!

I'm no computer wiz, but you may wanna check the rights you have as a user in your PC.

sounds like your dl ok but just wont let any unauthorized pgms to run.
Are you on a network or on a "work" machine?
(need someone to grant you priviledges to run that stuff)

I would need to know more to tell you waht you can do. For now, if you are downloading messenger, when the window pops up choose option "run from loication" or "open from location"

If you have a problem, it may tell you that you do not have rights or permissions....make sure you go to the control panel and check the users...your user should be set with administrative rights...that is if you are not on a network at Home!
