I wrote very respectful letters to Sen. Kyl (Arz) and Rep. Leach (Iowa) explaining to the fine gentlemen what a ROI is. I asked them why state lotteries are not "harmful" when they have ~ 40% RIO, while betting on sports is "harmful" when it has a ~97% RIO.
Now, I realive that Mr. Leach was not (nor do I suspect Mr. Kyl was) a math major and God probably told him that gambling is evil, but I thought that hearing that state lotteries 'steal' 57% MORE per wager than does sports betting then maybe, just maybe, he would end this evil act called 'lotto'.
Sadly, Mr. Leach has no such plans.
Nor does he intend to ban cigarettes and alcohol which also harm children.
Apparently those numbers are too large for Mr. Leach and Mr. Kyl to comprehend, as they dismissed my letters and suggest I write to my own representatives.
Can somebody in one of these 'mis-led' states please explain how these big numbers are effecting the great people of Arizona and Iowa?
Thanks.
