Youtube also jams it down your throat to do shorter videos and add links to your other videos in the each video. This guy Mr. Chi-City was a partner with them and did this whole tell-all video about when he was a partner. Lots of guys who do covers on youtube are partners and there vids get over 100k with ease because of all their subscribers
Ray William Johnson is a perfect example of someone starting out small on YouTube and building a massive following. He puts out 2 videos a weak reviewing viral videos that get 5-6 million hits each. Now he's branching out into acting.
