Can anyone tell me why Pitt is a -3.5 favorite over Duke?

I am having a tough time understanding this line. A 6-1 team coming off the bye being a dog to a 4-4 team that couldn't stop anything by GT.

This is the one line I'm having a hard time understanding this week as well.

On top of that, didn't Pitts running back James Conner hurt his knee?? I watched the game and it looked like he hyperextended it for sure... Possible tear is what I heard..... Anyone else?

Vegas has been known to screw up once in a while. A few seasons ago when everyone and their kid sister made money riding Boise St overs, Vegas had one game with Boise -41 or somewhere around there but someone seriously goofed and only set the total at around 39.5. Boise's totals that season had been in the 60's-70's. Needless to say, a mint was made because my local had take it.

I'm not sure on this one either.

I bet Duke ML when it was at like 1-1.5 figuring Duke would take the money and end up a favorite or probably a field goal. Thinking about going back and doubling down on Duke ML at a better price at this point.

Fishy looking game indeed. How to explain the line move from Duke -1.5 to Pitt -3.5 when over 70% of bets on Duke? Did it have something to do with Voytik's status as I see he is listed as probable?

Voytik will be playing. The only thing I can think of is that Pitt was embarassed last week with 6 turnovers and Duke just clinched an eligible bowl bid while Pitt is still getting theirs. Other than that, no true reason to take Pitt -3.5

Yes.. Pitt was awful last week, had like four fumbles on their first four possessions; the oddsmakers generally look at such a ridiculous TO margin as an anomaly. They will likely play much better this week and it appears the sharps are taking Pitt hence the RLM.

This one is easy. Vegas knows Joe Public will base their pick on Pitts performance from last week. I'm thinking Pitt takes their focus factor this week and shows up...

wow this thread has voytik out and conner getting knee surgery for a tear. what's next, tyler boyd contracted ebola on monday? wtf guys...geezus, get some fn facts straight

conner had a little knee sprain early in the game and came back to run for 3 TD's and 120 yards

voytik sat out the last 2 offensive series because he took a shot down 49-21 and there was no sense in allowing GT to tee off on him with no chance to win and the worst backup qb in major college football
