My wife has a 2002 Chevy Suburban. The center console (below) hinge/spring broke (in the back). I have searched high and low for a replacement console. Do I need an entire new console. Can the spring be replaced. Where to go?? Any help is much appreciated and will get the ol lady off my ass..

agree, I'd call the dealer 1st for this, then balk if they said buy the whole console.

I had the very same problem on my wife's car. The leatherette got a tear in it on the top of the console. Could not find the color that matched and the dealer said i had to buy the whole console. Wanted 435.00 to install or 310 for recovering and said it may not match perfectly because it was last years model.

I had my digital thermometer/compass go out on my Toyota Tacoma. I took it into the dealer and they said they are $800 new but a replacement part would cost $175 so I said fix me up. When I got my vehicle back he said "no charge"!

I searched on the Internet and found this was common with Tacomas in my year. I guess the repair guy at the dealership just wanted to continue getting my business since I was a repeat customer so he gave it to me for free.
