Looking for some advice/tips from residents of these two cities:

Just arrived in New York for a weekend trip (down from Toronto.) Hitting Yankee Stadium tonight to watch NYY vs Cincy, then heading to Philadelphia for the Saturday night game and then Pittsburgh on Sunday for the afternoon game. Just a fun little road trip to check out some MLB stadiums and teams, mainly Yankee Stadium as it's the last year it'll be around. But I've got my Yankee tickets already.... the question is:

Looking for Phillies and Pirates tickets. I know there are some available at the box office still, but we're planning on grabbing them from scalpers. Anybody know how easy/hard this is, and any idea on how much they generally mark up the tickets? I don't plan on buying the tickets without bargaining a bit, but knowing a rough ballpark estimate would help.

Thanks in advance..

Don't buy from a scalper in Pittsburgh. I went there a few years ago for a bachelor party we walked up to the window on Friday night and got tickets down the 3rd base line 12 rows up. Did the same thing for the Saturday game too. They had the seats right behind home plate available but they were priced to high. I wouldn't think it will be a problem there no idea about Philly though.

Philly shouldn't be a problem. Try the window first, as they may have decent seats left for a pretty decent price. If not, the scalpers in Philly are easy to bargain with, especially if you wait until right at gametime. Once that first inning hits, you'll pay significantly under face. There will be a lot of them on bikes and wondering around. Walk up the block toward the train station, that's where the biggest group of them hang out as people are coming off the train. My advice, find an offer you really like, cause there are plenty of guys there with tickets. Enjoy the game as there really isn't a bad seat in the house, and there is tons of good standing room behind every section.

BetHalf is pretty on point with Phillies tix. There will be tons of scalpers out front of the staduium by willcall...you'll be able to find any section you want.

One thing me and my buddies do often for sold out games, is go to McFaddens...the bar that's attached to the stadium. You don't need a ticket to enter there. So we'll go there and drink for the 1st few innings and watch the game. Usually by the 2nd or 3rd the lame corporate types who don't care about the game and just wanna get shitfaced will sell you their primo seats for a round of shots or something like a 20 spot.

Be sure to grab a Roast Pork sandwhich at Tony Lukes before or after the game. They're located at the intersection of Front & Oregon, about 5 blocks or so from the stadium.

Enjoy! Citizens Bank Park is a great place to catch a game, provided you aren't wearing an opponents jersey.

Awesome, thanks guys. Like I said, I knew there were tickets still available, but wanted some info on the scalper situation.

Went to the Yankees game tonight... it was very hard to find scalpers, there were cops everywhere. Ended up sitting 20 rows behind home plate for a fair price... so can't complain! Yankee Stadium was the cornerstone of this trip, so we knew we were going to pay large to get in. Now that this stop is over, I'm looking forward to the other two games with less aggressive, obnoxious fans (no offense Yank fans, but our section were total pains in the ass, and we were wearing Yankee gear!)

Thanks again to those who posted.
