Back from Sin City in one piece and ready to attack South Florida again.
Race 1
NUIT showed in her first try on a fast track that she has pretty good speed. Now she gets a boost of Lasix. Not sure if LOOKOUT HEIGHTS has what it takes to duel with her all the way home. In the chance that a duel does develop, however, I look for POCKETBROOK to be right there.
The bet: $10 WP #2 $4 ex box 2/3,6
Race 2
BIGAMO doesn't have the best of past turf form, but he has the ability to make a move in the final furlongs and that should be the difference maker.
The bet: $10 WP #10
Race 3
BONUS EXTRA looks like an excellent filly but there's no way she wires these. I look for FIESTA and STARSHIP DAYDREAM to be neck and neck for the photo.
The bet: $15 W #2 $5 ex box 1-2
Race 4
I hit V.I.P. KIPPER's debut pretty hard, but then laid off as he came back to beat me in a beautifully run effort in his second try. Hal Rose claims him in that one and now brings him right back. He gets Cruz, which is an upgrade, and can boast wins on both a fast and a sloppy track. All this means I'm simply afraid to bet against him. Actually, I'm hoping he scratches so I can back SOLITARY STARR...
The bet: $15 WP #5 $5 ex box 4-5
Race 5
Cheap claimers with no early foot. Looks like ELIAN will make the lead here and if Lopez is patient with him, he should be able to hold off the charges.
The bet: $15 WP #2
Race 6
I'm hoping Steinbrenner's filly gets way overbet because there are a couple in here that have excellent chances and could be dismissed at good odds. THE FINAL TOY has been under the watchful eye of Mr. Braddy through three steady June workouts leading to this and I expect quite a bit of improvement. Also, I feel CHANTILLY LIGHT will be sent hard early and 2 yr olds can get awfully brave when left alone up front.
The bet: $15 WP #5 $5 ex box 5/1,4
Race 8
I really like WIND GLIDER and think he'll become a very good racehorse. Unfortunately for him, there's just too much speed to his outside for him to handle at this point in his budding career. I'll go waaaay against the grain here and drop a couple of bucks on the only maiden in the field, WESTERN MAN.
The bet: $10 WPS #2
