Going to be in Vegas next weekend, live in San Diego but have a free plane ticket that I need to use so just going to fly in, but was wondering how much is it for a cab ride from the Vegas Airport to the Strip??

Obviously depends where on the Strip. If you are headed towards the MGM corner, about $12 plus tip. Bellagio corner, $17 plus tip.

Give or take of course depending on traffic.

Doesnt get pricey unless you are headed downtown. Then you definatly want the shuttle.

Tell the driver what you expect it to cost.

I'd definitely go with the shuttle. Why not? Only $7 each way when I was there in November and it leaves pretty often. You might have to stop off at a few hotels on the way so they can drop off other passengers first, but so what? That only takes a minute or two and you're on your way again.

One shuttle driver told me something about Vegas cabbies which makes a lot of sense. When they're driving you to the airport, they want to get there quickly so they can pick up their next passenger as fast as possible. But when they're driving you from the airport to your hotel, they might take the scenic route to jack up their fares...and of course, tourist passengers don't know they're being taken for a ride (literally and figuratively). I try to avoid Vegas cabs, but if I have no choice, I always ask up front how much it'll cost to get to where I need to go...

Don't tell the cab driver that this is your 1st trip to Vegas. He will take you through the tunnel and take you for a RIDE. Make sure you land in Vegas before 10am because you will run into less traffic. Your cab ride will be a more than $10 to $15. They raised the rates about 8 months ago.

Only thing bad about the shuttle is if you are one of the last ones dropped off, makes the ride much longer.

But for the money you save, I would say it's worth it.

dont let them take you thru the tunnel, its illegal

When I was at the last Bash I was trying to get my bearings in the cab and it looked like the driver was going to take me through the tunnel. I told him "don't go through the tunnel!" He said it was too late.

It cost about $17 but he took $5 off. He could tell I knew my way around and was probably afraid I would report him to the authorities.

Some cabbies will ask you personal questions like "is this your first time in Vegas?" or "do you come to Vegas often?". They are just trying to get you to go to places where they get a commission. Just politely tell them that you'd rather not give out any personal information.

If you're worried about what the cab ride costs then maybe you shouldn't be going to Vegas. It always amazes me how many tightwads there are on this site. ^<<^ Taking the shuttle.....ROLFLMFAO. @)

I agree, except if you consider getting ripped off or not getting the best odds for a play you are an idiot!
It starts at the airport.........money management.

Pay what is expected....play the best plays from the start!

i got ripped off my 1st few times, my cab ride from the airport was $20 some dollars, not a big deal but you figure i could of paid $12 for a shuttle round trip or $45 for a cab round trip, which one makes more sense? then you just feel like an idiot

vegas takes all my money anyway dont let them take you for a ride before you even start gambling or just before you leave
