Under is such an obvious play in STL and sometimes free money is a exactly that but, one small play says it's not

Seeing a lot of "Pens are better than the Caps..." sentiment, so I'll just offer some info for you. These are not predictions.

Goals for: Pens 1st, Caps 3rd
Goals against: Caps 1st, Pens 17th
Power play: Tied for 3rd
PK: Caps 7th, Pens 20th

  • Caps are highest remaining possession team at 3rd, Pens at 17th
  • Pens were 3-5-2 vs playoff teams last 25 games, outscored 26-20 in regulation.
  • Caps were 10-5-1 last 25 vs. playoff teams outscoring them 42-38 (an 0-4 Cali trip uglied that one up good)
  • Caps finished 8-2, Pens finished 4-6
  • Leafs were a tougher match up for the Caps and could be argued playing as well if not better than Pens going into playoffs
Pens disposed of Jackets pretty handily though they were badly out shot which is not a good sign for them. Jackets did not close out the season well and were certainly an easier team for the Pens to play than the Leafs were for the Caps.

  • Leafs were 4-4-4 vs playoff teams last 25, 32gf/32ga in regulation over last 25
  • CBJ was 3-6-2 and outscored 27-21 vs. playoff teams and came in losing 8 of their last 12 while Toronto had won 8 of their last 12.
  • Toronto was 2nd highest scoring team after the break and CBJ was 19th
  • Toronto had higher possession metrics than Pens or Blue Jackets from the break and throughout the year.
Between these two teams, obviously it all goes out the window, especially in the playoffs.

  • Pens are 8-1 all time
  • Caps have won the first game 8 times
  • Caps have held 2-0 or 3-1 leads 4 times and lost all four.
  • Caps won the first game last year and lost the next three.
  • Pens are defending champs.
  • Pens have Crosby and Malkin and Kessel

May have a pick but the stress of watching it will probably be enough for me :)

GL to all.

Caps -1.5 +215 3U

I think that's great value honestly and just playing forward the win from last night. See what happens.

Was hoping Ottawa would lose so that series price would tilt back in our favor. They've got home ice now and have held Pens to two goals, and Pens players are beat tf up. Might not win, but you can't beat +180 for the home team in the playoffs.

4U Ottawa series +180

Crosby is not the same since falling into the boards funny and getting bell rung.

Kessel and Malkin have been hilarous on the bench

Nashville series price is the ultimate lock. I said it before game 1 when it was like -125. But regardless they will win. Might go 6 or 7 tho. I had Nashville/Pitt but as long as the Predators get there I don't really care for the other series. It is one of those typical star studded public attraction teams vs the hard working underrated team that are breaking out now. The way the predators do not let you skate free and feel all comfy out there is my type of style. Same thing with Atletico Madrid. The energy and the effort and concern is through the roof. Granted, I don't know shit about hockey.

Pz - with the injuries that team has suffered they shouldn't even be in the playoffs let alone in the conference finals. Crosby is a tough SOB and I've always loved Kessel. Funny how in Toronto he was a malcontent but now for Pittsburgh competitor. Only guy I don't like true douchebag on the team is Kunitz who is as dirty as you can get.

Unfortunately for Crosby, he probably won't be able to do his own grocery shopping in 20 years because like the NFL, the NHL doesn't care about its players health.

Mob--I like Nash to win it all myself but we'll have to see how they respond to getting beat up two night's ago. Nash is not going to win in Anaheim's end. GL
